if butler really wanted to put his stamp on the defense right away, here ya go.

    d-line
    heyward
    McCullers
    tuitt
also think Micheal Bennett will be a good 3rd pick out of ohio st

    linebackers

worilds I think he comes back
    shazier
    Timmons
    Jarvis

    corners

    willie gay
marcus peters 2nd pick out of Washington. I really think he falls

    safties

landon Collins 1st pick from bama
    Mitchell

I think both peters and Bennett go earlier but have seen some with them being picked there. all this will change in a few weeks I know. what does everyone think?

I think Tuitt is the LDE, no question. I don't think he gets unseated by a rook.

I'd rather see a guy like skrine with a newbie at corner and gay go back to nickel. not a huge fan of Collins either, (don't hate him) but as I said in another thread, I think we will find one already here. (shamarko, alden darby, i. lewis or fogg). not to sure we don't keep troy for one more either. I hope he retires to be honest.

Would be a good defense , but we wont get Peters in round #2 . When he shows out at the combine the way I think he will. If we want him it will have to be round #1

I'm not sure I'd see McCullers as starting NT just yet. Rotation option, certainly. Heyward and Tuitt look safe bets for either side, though.

There are a couple of things which MUST happen for the D to improve.

    1. We must find a 5th Dlineman. Heyward, McCullers, McLendon, and Tuitt...I think the top 4 can all be effective, but we need a guy to be relief. I personally would be okay with Keisel being the 5th guy as long as he is depth only.

    2. We must get some OLBs who can get to the QB. I feel we are all set at ILB, but the OLB position is a mess. Worilds, Moats, and Jones are all..."okay". Even Lemon might be okay, we don't know yet, but we MUST get to the QB as it will make the secretary much much better.

    3. The secondary as a whole must get better. This is multi-faceted...

    a. I am okay with our depth at CB. Blake, Allen, Gay, McCain, Webb...all guys who can fill those 2-5 roles, but we need that #1 if at all possible. Cortez Allen getting his game correct would be a huge win for us. C. Allen as a 2, Gay as #3, McCain #4, and Blake #5....is pretty solid.

    b. Mitchell must raise his game and Thomas must show he can have a role on the D. Depth is also a major concern here.

McLendon has proven to be good at NT, but it seems that he's picking up injuries as the mileage adds up. He's very effective there when healthy and has the experience to play it well. I'd like to see him use his explosiveness coming from the end position a little more with Shadetree getting some more PT as long as his technique stays solid.
