I was coming here just to start a thread about this. I liked Breaking Bad a lot and Saul was my favorite character. I've loved Bob Odenkirk for a long time and I think he can carry a show by himself. Did anyone else crack up at the first scene since he told Walt the best he could hope for was two pairs of Dockers and to manage a Cinnabon? I'm glad Michael McKean is in it too because I love him from all of his Christopher Guest movies. The ending was great and I'm assuming that Tuco is gonna build his business with the help of Saul. I REALLY hope Tuco's uncle makes an appearance! He was one of the most awesome characters in Breaking Bad.

While I liked the episode, I'm skeptical about it's ability to last very long. We'll see I guess.

Yeah it was slow at first but once it showed Tuco in that last shot I was like "ahhhh so thisss is how it's gonna go". I also thought it was hilarious when he called Mike the "employee of the month". Vince Gilligan is pretty good and since he's the one running it that definitely gives it a lot more promise than it would have had.

I tend to think that to truly appreciate this show you'll need to know Breaking Bad. However, we've only seen one episode so it's entirely possible the Breaking Bad isn't a total necessity. Being that BB is so very @##$ing epic you might as well dvr the first few episodes of BCS and binge BB now.

I watched it and like what we've seen so far. Will Saul Goodman/Jimmy McGill be enough to carry a whole show? Only time will tell.

Yea i liked it, i started wondering if that guy at the end that offer'd saul that buisness deal at that end of the sho... could have been Tuco's cousin from mexico that we nvr got to see in BB but thats prob a lil far fetched.. lol

Yeah that dude's name is Nacho. The character I am most hoping to see is his uncle that's in a wheelchair. That dude was the most hardcore gangster I think I've ever seen. LOL.

I think he can because Bob Odenkirk is really good. He was awesome on Fargo as well. He's just a great character actor. I suppose that stems from his roots on Mr. Show.

I don't doubt that Odenkirk can do the job. I'm just not sure if the writers can come up with enough interesting material to carry the show.

Well it's still Vince Gilligan and his BB stories were all really awesome. I'm optimistic but I don't think it will ever be AS good as BB. That's a tall order for any show though really. I wonder if it will ever show the twins that Hank got in the gunfight with? I'm also curious how it will handle Gus because Saul was always talking about how he just "knows a guy that knows a guy" and from comments like that I don't know if him and Gus ever met ya know?

I thought Nacho was the guy that got shot on the street corner, buy the kid on the bike in BB :smiley1:

That was Combo. BB had so many nicknamed guys I can see how you would think that though. LOL. Combo, Badger, Heisenberg, and Skinny Pete were just a few I can name off the top of my head.

That's Hector Salamanca. He was an awesome character and I agree, I hope to see him on Better Call Saul.

I really enjoyed the second episode. It was a nice little setup, and the early interactions between Jimmy and Mike have been entertaining.

Yeah and it looks like next week Mike is gonna throw down on him. I bet the show will also focus on Mike's relationship with his granddaughter as well. It will probably at least show her being born or something.

I'm only about half way through episode 4 so far, but this show is getting better by the week. I loved the "origin" of the name in the flashback when the guy at the beginning asked what Jimmy's name was and he responded with

    's all good, man

Yeah it has been really awesome the past couple of weeks. I think that was a joke about his name though since he told Walt the reason he changed it was because he wanted to appeal to Jews. LOL! I cracked up when he told that guy that though. Also his billboard was hilarious. Did you notice the Steelers reference in the episode? I could have done without it. LOL.
