The Walking Dead (no comics spoilers)

It's back tonight!

 

Stoked! Finally something to watch.

 

My dance card is full. Friday night is the only night I don't have something to watch.

Sunday is TWD
Monday is Sleepy Hollow
Tuesday is Justified
Wednesday is The Americans
Thursday is Vikings
And Saturday is Black Sails.

Really? I thought it was beautiful. A nice tribute. And seeing some, uh, old friends was a real treat.

And now let the chaos resume...

 

Justified is amazing and I really recommend you binge on it over the summer or something. Just really great characters and dialogue. I might have just a touch of a man crush on both Timothy Olyphant and Walton Goggins too, so.... (did I really just say that?) This final season has been really great so far. But time will tell if it surpasses season 2, which was some of the best TV ever IMHO. And of course, seeing Walton Goggins as Boyd Crowder for so long, it's always just a touch jarring seeing him as Venus Van Damme on SoA. :o Talk about night and day!

Vikings is best binge watched. Especially since you really can't wait to see what happens next.

The Americans is really interesting. It's funny that they can make the "protagonists" Russian spies - not even conflicted spies. They do their job. And still make them sympathetic. In the end, it's people. Regardless of faction, beliefs, or politics. Good drama is good drama. (And if that all fails, the girl who plays Nina may be one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen, so there's always that. )

 

Andrew Lincoln said that the rest of this season is, and I quote: "f--king nuts"

As for this episode, I liked it but I never thought Tyreese was long for this world, its nice how he tried to approach it but I think you have to have a little more ice water in your veins.

I disagree with Noah, it wasn't the right choice, they should have done it Ricks way. They alluded to that in Lincolns interview, the assault on the hospital failed, they didn't listen to Rick to finish off cannibals when they had a chance, ect, I think you are going to see Rick begin to take control again and no more democratic process.

 

I thought it was a pretty good episode. I liked Tyrese early on, but if someone is the "moral compass" on the show, it kind of makes them a walking spoiler. The episode was a little too film schooley for me if that makes any sense. Maybe that was something to do with Nicotero directing.

 

I don't know if I'll ever watch Justified. I'd like to, but I've never been successful when trying to pick up a long established show. I'm a fan of Olyphant, but it's strictly platonic.

I started Vikings and will probably watch the whole series one of these coming weekends. I stupidly turned it on one night and had absolutely no idea what I was watching. It looks awesome, though.

I love it when a TV series or author can pull off switching the typical antagonist/protagonists. Is it a show I could just start watching or do you need to start from the beginning?

 

It'sthe third season, so there's not a TON of "mythology" to catch up on, but there is a bit of it. You might get by with reading a wiki primer.

You still might be slightly confused, but not so much that it won't click within an episode or 3. Mostly to learn faces and names. (And the first 2 episodes of this season should be On Demand)

 

Ahh, thanks. I thought this was the second season. I see it's on Prime, so I'll watch the first few episodes of season one and see how I like it.
