trying some different combos for this draft. can't seem to get a top dog or everyone I'd want slotted, but this could be a nice mix.

    1. shane ray OLB Missouri - speed off the edge.
    2. jake fisher OT Ore. - good feet and a lot to work with.
    3. kevin white CB TCU - small but can cover and is fearless.
    4. ladarius gunter CB/S Mia.- nice combination of skills and size, most likely a FS for us.
    5. quandre digs CB/S Tex. - smaller but again fearless. all 3 of these DB's make plays against the pass, can blitz and play the run tough. good ball players.
    6. malcom brown RB Tex. - big tough RB to team with bell.
6.b. sean mannion QB Ore. St. - yea a qb. if he falls this far absolutely I'd take him. runs a pro style offense.
    7. darren waller WR GT - big damn WR for the redzone and first downs. can block and under rated playing for GT.
7.b. trevor harris OLB Hou. - my sleeper steal. listed as a DE, but he is all OLB. 2014 wasn't good for him because Houston went to more 4-3. 2013 was a much better year for him out of more 3-4 sets. he's gotten lost in the shuffle. gets off of blocks very well to bring down RB's from the backside. quick off the edge against OT's. good size.

I figure we will get at least a 6th and 7th comp pick. that's it for now. no TE or DE. I think the backups are here already in hemmer, conrath and kruger at DE. blanchflower and egnew at TE. :hmmm: :smiley1::cool:

I could go for that draft based on what I've watched to date. However, I can't imagine Ray lasting until pick #22. He may be top 10 unless some new information surfaces that casts doubt on his viability.

Don't know much about those players other than Ray, but I like the positions. One could debate swapping one of those DB for another OL or DL, but that's getting pretty nit-picky. I like the QB pick, because I don't think Landry has anything of value for this league and we should try to find someone that does, and the 6th is an acceptable spot to do it.

Darren Waller and Trevor Harris I'll have to check out on YouTube as they both sound very intriguing.

Nice Mac. I think the OT pick might be a bit early, but I really can't hate on it too much. I think we might need a little more size in the secondary tho. Next year with Shark Mitchell and Gay, only Mitchell is 6 feet tall. Would like to have a starter on the edge a bit taller. Overall good tho

ray will be a gtop ten pick , fisher should not last to our second round .. but who knows .. i think if we want a top olb we would have to choose beteween orchard kilahaka or hunter in the first maybe trading down a little bit , in the second round they all will be gone .. ray fowler beasley gregory and duprre will all be gone by our pick in the first

Yeah. I'm nervous about our chances of getting en edge rusher that can help day 1. We need help there badly, but the guys who can step in and compete right away should be long gone. I soured a bit on Kikaha when I watched the 1st quarter of the Senior Bowl and saw him get consistently fail to hold the edge in run defense (including a 20+ yard TD around his edge). I need to watch the rest of that game, and some of his Washington film before I write him off, but I was not impressed. I need to look at Eli Harold from Virginia. He's a guy who could be sneaking up.

Yeah I wouldn't write off Kikaha just yet. I think his sole responsibility at Washington was as an assassin and it shows on his tape (and Shelton's). It will probably take him some time to learn the full scope of responsibility as a NFL OLB. I think he has the size and strength to hold up well against the run, and the mentality to change/adapt to coaching.

He won't wash out of the league due to laziness, and with his athleticism I think that's worth something.

Harold is a guy I liked too. I also agree on kikaha GB. he's got a lot to work with. the SR. bowl will never be a determining factor for me. just not enough time with a team in a limited system and so many guys trying to make themselves stand out. there are also some detractors of ray and some of these other guys. you either really like them or they have weaknesses in areas that hold them back with certain teams. same as any other year.

I still like a couple of guys that may go late or not at all in norkeithus Otis from NC and trevor harris from Houston. just not a lot of tape on them, but what I have seen is guys with tons of arrows pointing up with their play. they may not be day one starters but have the goods to be steals as guys with the goods but maybe not quite on the major scene for one reason or another. porter could do wonders with these guys, the player is there for exactly what we could use. I think harris could be one heck of a player down the road in our system.

Looks like a decent player Mac... Could be worth a late round flier.

I just don't see that explosive quickness from him freak. very few of these edge rushers have that look, strength, ability to shed blocks, quickness to recognize what offenses are doing on each play. all this is what we need from a guy to be a success for us at the position. at least that's what I'm looking for. more of a complete guy. they are hard to come by. harris shows me the ability of quickness off the edge, the ability to shed a guy at the right time to make a tackle and great pursuit on run plays or scrambles. that's why I think he has a lot to offer.

Otis has some quickness off the edge but his size and strength are not as good, but he recognizes that if he can't get to the qb and a free man is breaking out in the flats, his coverage ability kicks in. he recognizes things quickly. those are just some things I picked up on with these two. we can probably make them stronger, but these God given talents are why they seem like good investments and good fits for what we need. I'm going to give some more looks at these top guys to see if they have that IT factor and something to build with.

Seems to me he has a slow get off, not anticipating the snap very well. But he makes up for it with his pursuit. He reminds me more of a 4-3 OLB. But the video you posted is the only time I've seen him, so small sample size.

not a big fan of Dupree. there are very few that I would really consider that high as elvis has said. if I was a bettin man, I think we go with the kid from Miami (oh.), in the first but that's a stretch too. not because of talent but knowledge of the position against pro receivers. waynes is a good cover man but he reminds me a lot of dion in not liking contact. not sure we go for that type of player around here. who knows, this years draft seems so up in the air to me. there might be a lot better value out of the first round.
