Well, since it's that time of year again (since we breathe football year round), I ran this draft simulator. Post yours in the thread!

    R1P22
    WR AMARI COOPER
ALABAMA - If there had been a "trade down" option, I would've considered it and picked up extra picks with the 1st round selection. Amari Cooper wouldn't be too realistic unless his elevator plunged as he was leaving his hotel for Radio City Music Hall, but I went BPA here since he's about as "can't miss" as there is in this draft.

    R2P24
    DE ELI HAROLD
VIRGINIA - as a two-year starter as a hybrid DE/OLB in UVA's 3-4 defense, Harold compiled 141 tackles, 36.5 tackles for loss, 17.5 sacks and four fumble recoveries

    R3P23
    CB IFO EKPRE-OLOMU
OREGON - a borderline 1st rounder if it weren't for his injury. I'll gladly take him toward the end of the 3rd round!

    R4P22
    TE JEFF HEUERMAN
OHIO STATE - solid run-blocker who can learn the ropes from Heath Miller and take over in a couple of years

    R5P24
    CB KEVIN WHITE
TCU - has some work to do to be a starter, but he sure shut down WVU's Kevin White this year (3 rec for 28 yards)

    R6P23
    OT AUSTIN SHEPHERD
ALABAMA - decent value for the end of the 6th round. Could also pan out as a guard

    R7P22
    OLB JAMES VAUGHTERS
STANFORD - project pick...plain and simple

cam erving Fla. St. LOT/C our new LT, or any other position if needed along the o-line
kikaha Wash. OLB pass rusher from the edge.
grant Ohio St. CB corner or some safety if needed
mannion Ore. St. QB better than landry, keeping options open for bens eventual replacement without having to commit to a 1st rounder. look see.
scott N. Car. S/CB excelled at safety and corner
bell Okla. TE big ex QB that could be the 3rd qb option opening up a spot. can be a wildcat option also. versatile guy.
hicks Tex. OLB/ILB nice looking LB that makes plays from the outside or inside. reminds me a little of JH against the run crashing down inside from OLB.

    well that was fun.

Shane Ray DE/OLB Mizzou - top 15 talent, sprinted to the podium

Alex Carter CB Stanford - good all around CB, fits zone scheme

Malcolm Brown NT Texas - Big Snack part II

Ifo Olomu CB Oregon - first round talent who slipped due to injury. Huge value in the 4th imo. Locks down the slot when healthy.

Kenny Hilliard RB LSU - bruising RB, will help spell LeVeon

Eric Lefeld OT Cincy - 6'6" 309 prospect for Munchak, has frame to grow

Adrian Amos S Penn State 7 PBUs and 3 INTs. some clay for Special teams and Coach Lake

Brown is good but I think Snack II is a little lofty, really don't think they will draft one, McLendon does a good job and McCullers has the potential to be the beast everyone is clamoring for.

IMO, they don't need a bruising back, need a versatile back like Bell so if he's out, our game plan doesn't go out with him.

I want to see a TE in there some where, preferably not too late, we already took a late round project last year. Heaths days are numbered.

Simulator didn't give me too many options at TE. Except in the 4th, I think Koyak (SP?) was there. It was pretty fun though, but I'll admit the later rounds had me scratching my head on some of the guys left!! Makes you want to do more research.

Kiper has us taking CB Kevin Johnson in the first. Wonder why the simulator has him going in the third?

    So, I'm all about value...
In no way do I think this happens, but this is fun to play with. And with that first pick, I'm sure we could trade that into additional picks somehow.

I wouldn't put too much stock into it on either end. It's early, but there are many corners I would rank higher.

The simulator is fun, but it can be a little far fetched. Last year I remember getting Greg Robinson in the first and Justin Gilbert in the second. Another time I think I got Jake Matthews in the first and a first rounder in the second.

A lot of you had OLB Lorenzo Mauldin. I wasn't familiar with him, so I looked him up on walter football.com

    [IMG] Lorenzo Mauldin, 3-4OLB, Louisville
    Height: 6-4. Weight: 244.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.84.
    Projected Round (2015): 2-3.

12/13/14: Mauldin was moved to outside linebacker this season, and that is the realistic home for him for the NFL unless he can add a significant amount of weight. Mauldin has performed well in his position change. He racked up 45 tackles with 13 tackles for a loss, 6.5 sacks, three passes broken up and a forced fumble in the 2014 regular season. Mauldin is quick off the edge with some nice pass-rushing technique.

8/23/14: Mauldin is a speed rusher who needs to add weight for the NFL. Otherwise, he'll have to move to outside linebacker. In 2013, Mauldin formed a dynamic duo with teammate Marcus Smith coming from the other side. Mauldin had 9.5 sacks, 40 tackles, 12 tackles for a loss, three forced fumbles and four passes broken up. In 2012, he was a backup who totaled 4.5 sacks.

I didn't get to see any Louisville games this year.

i went with mauldin because if you don't take an olb in the first round in the second is the only good available .. that's for the simulator .. in reality i don't know ..

I've seen a few of his games. Definitely more effective at edge than he was at inside. He shows that he's not just a one trick pony in terms of technique, and has good use of hands.

Nice find!!! Here is my draft from that one. I traded out of the 1st round with Tennessee. I tried digging in the later rounds but the draft engine didn't care for my later picks

So, here's what I came up with playing the game that Freak posted:

Round 1 Pick 19 (CLE): Dante Fowler Jr., DE, Florida (A) - Traded our 3rd rounder to move up for him
Round 2 Pick 27 (IND): Kevin Johnson, CB, Wake Forest (B+) - Traded back for 4th rounder
Round 4 Pick 22: Detrick Bonner, FS, Virginia Tech (E)
Round 4 Pick 27 (IND): Tyler Lockett, WR, Kansas State (A)
Round 5 Pick 24: Jeremy Langford, RB, Michigan State (A)
Round 6 Pick 23: Byron Jones, CB, Connecticut (D)
Round 7 Pick 22: Isaiah Johnson, SS, Georgia Tech (E)

I had to trick the game to make things more realistic. Indy offered it's 3rd rounder to trade up 2 spots in the 2nd, so I had to finagle things by wasting the 3rd round pick from Indy and then trading our 2016 1st rounder for Indy's 4th rounder. That resulted in a trade down of 2 spots in the 2nd for Indy's 4th, which is way more realistic than getting a 3rd.

My favorite pick of the bunch is getting Lockett in the 4th. I love that guy's explosiveness, and he could be a legit #4 receiver and starting punt returner day 1. I also love getting Byron Jones in the 6th. In actuality, if he times OK I would take him as early as the 3rd. I see a lot of UCONN games in person, and he's a really good corner. My only question mark with him is long speed. We'll find out about that soon enough.

I am a BIG Mauldin fan. Very interesting story on his background too. I don't think he is as explosive as some other DE/OLB options, but the guy reminds me of a good football player.
