Two would seem a little excessive.

I guess Olsavsky would coach the inside guys, and Porter will focus on the OLBs.

I wouldn't mind seeing them bring in some outside candidates. Always good to get an outside perspective. With that said, I wouldn't have an issue with either of these two being promoted.

As long as the communication is there between the two so the same message is getting to the players, I'm all good. I'm sure Tomlin will make the right call in the end.

That's essentially what the guy who wrote the article is speculating.

I just want better results from the LB unit.

Does this mean that we could have 2 LB coaches, but only 1 OLBer under contract?

Wasn't HoJo resigned to a futures contract? Bringing the total to three counting Zumwalt who was on IR

My take on it is that Jerry has the time in and like Butler deserves a shot but Tomlin and Porter had some MOJO working during the season and Tomlin is leaning his way.

    My opinion:

    Olsavsky: experience
    Porter: heart/passion/intensity

Yeah I think this pretty much sums it up. You have two guys with different approaches and both work. If they can work well together and help formulate a good gameplan with the other defensive coaches then I'm all for having two LB coaches.

And once Porter builds some experience, he will be one of the best LB coaches in the league! Hell, who knows, he may already be...

We all want better results from our LB Corp but it can't be done from the bench or tub.
