This game we love so much ,gets very weird during playoff crunch time and during the dance, I believe the players play, the coaches but the game is WWE style thru the refs, they ve made the game so complicated by having all these rules, that no one knows what a fumble is anymore what a catch is, helmet to helmet whenever they want it ,next play don't call it, defensive holding when they want it next play different, its weird but one holding call can kill a drive like crazy, they probably can call it on every play but they choose when they want too, the tv commentators cant say **** because they will loose there high paying jobs so idiots like Buck and Sims alaways play it off and change the subject, the tv networks wont say **** because they will not get the rights, so it all comes down to MONEY,whatever their motivs are I don't know, but a lot of stinky plays come to mind, last year the chiefs vs san diego game, the ravens 49 ers sb last play was pass interfence Jimmy Smith was all over him, DEZ BRYANT was a catch, last week vs Lions was pass interefernce ,, they control the game with the REFS its very obvious its not a sport its entertainment

I TRY very hard, not to be a "conspiracy theorist",...

But the points pete makes are valid...

I generally refrain from criticizing/complaing about the ref`s calls,

Figuring it all evens out in the end...
We get good calls, we get bad calls, just like every other team...

However, when it comes down to the playoffs, I DO see the possibility for manipulation, to get the matchups the league wants.

Not saying they DO it, but they COULD...

If people ARE out to get you,...

You`re not paranoid, for thinking they are...

I really don`t believe the league manipulates the calls, but there are certainly cases to be made, where it looks like that is the case...

I`m just glad Dallas got "screwed" on one last week, after they benefitted from one the week before.

That feels like pure karma, to me, but ya never know...

GO STEELERS! Make no mistakes, and it becomes harder to manipulate!

I just don't see it as being feasible. There are too many people involved to keep a coverup that size from leaking.

Yeah everything is not Watergate. There is human error involved in everything. It's lame when football games come down to that but it's just the reality of it. Do I think the league WANTS a lot of Brady/Manning games and things like that? ABSOLUTELY. They are in the business to make money and those guys draw it and other matchups do as well. But I don't consider that a "conspiracy". It's business. I mean if you are pushing a product who would you rather have as posterboys? Texans/Jags or Manning/Brady? That's not conspiratorial to believe that. It is logical. But do I think the league would tell the refs to make sure that the Texans and Jags get screwed? No. Remember years ago when an NBA ref got busted? He was just one guy and got busted! Even the World Series was fixed once and they got busted and that was almost 100yrs ago! In today's age it would be extreeeeeemely difficult to cover something like that up. ESPECIALLY with media outlets that would be willing to pay a "whistleblower" so much. I just don't buy in to it at all.

The Dallas Cowboys are one of the most popular and highest revenue generating teams in the league. If it were fixed and about the money, don't you think that they wouldn't have overturned that call last week and done everything possible to get them to the Super Bowl? Don't you think that they would have at least made it to a single Super Bowl since 1996 instead of having a measly two playoff wins since then?

Seattle is about to go to their 2nd straight Super Bowl. Seattle, let that sink in.

    What about the Saints?

Why would they ever allow Baltimore in the Super Bowl? Especially over New England?

Wouldn't the Jets from the largest NFL market have made in the last 45 years?

Why would they have allowed Arizona play in SB 43? Who cares about the Cardinals? And why the Panthers in SB 39 who beat Dallas in the playoffs? Who cares about the Panthers?

Wouldn't the Raiders, another large revenue generating team, have had a lot more sucess than they've had in the past 35 years?

That's exactly what I thought about Dallas too. There's a huge market for them but they've not done jack in the last 20yrs basically.

This. There have been thousands and thousands of NFL players, coaches and officials over the years, and if it were rigged, someone would have leaked something. Especially players who have been banned from the league, etc., who would have an axe to grind, and there have been plenty of those.

    With regards to the refs..

I'll steal a line from the UFC - "Don't leave it in the hands of the judges".

Crush 'em on defense and score as much as possible, lol.

The thing is, conspiracy theorists ignore all evidence that disputes their claims. That's true of every conspiracy theory, not just NFL ones. On the off chance they can't ignore the evidence for whatever reason, they will either claim you're a sheep and/or the evidence is fabricated by "the man."

If u look it up, the NFL has an entertainment liscense, its not regulated like a sport ex the Olympic athletes, its a business, it could be as easy as getting cities to give teams new stadiums, hence why the cardinals made it at 9-7 a few years ago, stir up the fan base etc, it could be the Jets are in a big market and they make their money irregardless of what the Jets do, some games are done for the vegas spreads look up a Lions vs falcons game last year, remember the Steelers vs Chargers a few years back, Troy scores a td and the refs overturned it called it a game with no explanation, when u get to playoff time, just look at last year how we got robbed, im checking every game out to see if we are gonna make it,only to get no explanation in the kc vs san diego game ,that game was horrible, the Steelers vs Colts a few years ago, the call with Jimmy Smith in the sb that was so apperant pass interference, Dallas vs Detriot , detriot got robbed, then next week Dallas gets robbed, so I guess 2 wrongs make a right? BS, its WWE , its ot hard to keep some refs to shut up or else , its a very big business like I said before the players play, the coaches coach , I don't believe they are in on it, as far as the owners go, im sure they are in on it because in the end of the day all 32 teams get paid the same ,wheather they ae good or bad,

Is the NFL rigged? No. Officiated by middle-aged part timers who have a hard time keeping up with the speed of the game while also keeping up with myriad new rules that are ambiguous at best? Yes. That is the NFL's fault though I seriously doubt it's intentional to influence the outcomes of games. They are just cheap.
