LOL. Luck is a beast dude and he's got a bright future in front of him. I really think he'll wind up with a ring but I don't think it will be this year. I think another young star named Russell Wilson is gonna bring home another one.

I thought you'd be elated after Peyton's defeat.

Oh man it is wonderful and when I got in the pulpit tonight I said "well it has been a great day because church was good this morning and then I go home and watch the cowboys lose". Everyone just laughed but they really couldn't understand the joy in my heart. LOL.

You may have said before, but where does your animosity for Peyton come from? Did he do something while at UT that just ticked you off? Or maybe you just don't like his looks, lol. Manning may not be everybody's favorite, but he seems to have a good amount of respect in most circles. Sorry if you've mentioned it before but just curious.

Yeah I have but I don't mind bashing him again. LOL. It's just because he played at UT and then went to Indy and people suddenly and miraculously became die hard colts fans around here and it was SUPER annoying! Also he constantly has choked in the post season throughout his career but people act as though he's some kind of messiah. He played most of his career in a dome, in perfect conditions, in a division of perennial bottom feeders. Don't get me wrong. He's a GREAT REGULAR SEASON QB but he's not even average in the post season. I like guys that win when it counts. I'm honestly not lying when I say this but I would take Ben or Brady over him 6 days a week and twice on Sundays. NFL rules have been changed to protect him and he just represents everything I can't stand about modern football. All finesse and no toughness and a prime example was tonight when he threw it to Sanders on 3rd down when he literally had 20 free yards in front of him and didn't even rush for the few needed. He's soft. I just like the more physical guys that are willing to lay it all out there. When he fumbled tonight he made absolutely no play whatsoever for the ball. I also think he throws his teammates under the bus in losses as well. That's just the tip of the iceberg really. LOL.

He was throwing deep plenty. 5-10 yards deeper than the receiver!

I don't mind that. Wilson is a great guy and we need more of them in the NFL. I cheer for guys like him.

Thanks for clarifying. I'll probably forget and ask you again at some point, giving you yet another opportunity to bash Manning, lol.

I agree with your assesment of Manning. Seems like a great guy and he's a great (regular season and stat padding) QB, but the guy is the biggest choke artist in the NFL and everyone makes excuses for him (Reggie Wayne's fault in the SB). And he's been a choke artist his whole life too. I remember reading once where he only lost 4 or 5 games in 3 years as a starter in HS but his team never won a state title....meaning that 3 of those losses came in the state playoffs. Thats typical Manning.

I've got a friend of mine who loves Manning to the point that he's got his Colts jersey that he wears when the Steelers aren't playing. Absolutley loved watching the Colts/Saints SB with him because the smack talk was huge. He was getting pisssed because the whole game I kept saying that Manning was a choke artist and would blow it....and we all know how that turned out. I remember dancing around my living room saying "I told you so..."

Last year we watched it together again, but we were both rooting for the Broncos. He was pissed again because I told him "I want the Broncos to win, but I just know Manning is going to choke and let me down." Well just like Nostradamus, I was right again.

Just a quick question, I don't see the Broncos play a lot. Does Peyton seem disinterested to anybody?sure does to me.

Didn't Brady win two faster than Ben? Just asking, because I'm not so sure Ben has a record.

It is like we are one mind. I've told people down here forever that their unfeigned love of the guy is actually quite baffling. He never beat Florida and he never won the national championship. I often talk about how Charles Woodson is one of my favorite players ever just to aggravate people. LOL. I used to tell "colts fans" after every one of peyton's patented one and done's that if the colts would just get Tee Martin they could win the Super Bowl. The reason for that is because a year after peyton left UT they won the national championship. People just sorta look at me like they could kill me. My favorite question to ask all the local "colts fans" is "who was the colts qb before peyton?" I've met one person that actually GUESSED the right answer. LOL.

Guess you didn't read his admission of being a bully and down right bad person growing up? Just because the NFL chooses to paint him a choir boy doesn't make it true.

I've heard him talk about the person he is now. If you judge someone based on what they were as a kid you're a pretty harsh person. When we were kids we spoke, understand, and thought as kids but when we became men we put away childish things. I believe Russell Wilson is the person he says he is now.

I agree. But you are kind of all over the place with these QB, which you're certainly entitled to. But let's see, you like Wilson, because he's a good guy (forget his past). You hate Manning, even though nothing suggests he's not a good guy and role model. The reason why you hate Manning is becuase you don't believe he's a great QB. You also don't like him because you suggest he's soft and the NFL changed rules because of him (which I agree), but the same can be said of Tom Brady, whom you love.

When I was a kid I also thought bullying was cool. I'm the complete opposite now and would absolutely put myself in harms way to stop a stranger from being bullied or harmed. You can't judge someone based on what they did while growing up. A lot of people made stupid mistakes, but we learned from them and we're now different people

I think Peyton Manning is an AWESOME REGULAR SEASON QB. I don't think he's the greatest qb ever because when it counts he's not able to come through for his team. Brady has 20 post season wins and the most td passes in post season history. Peyton Manning is a good role model OFF THE FIELD and I really appreciate what he does. All my criticism of him is purely based on what he does on the field. I actually think Manning is a much better dude off the field than Brady. If I'm not mistaken, didn't Brady have a kid with some actress and then not really take part in its life? I don't condone that kind of crap whatsoever. But what he does on the field is something to appreciate as a football fan. He does it when it counts. I also like Wilson because I think he's a really good qb. He's well spoken and doesn't come off as a dude that speaks "ghetto" and seems thuggish. I personally don't like that kind of stuff and Wilson seems like the kind of guy I wouldn't mind my son liking.

The thing too is Peyton's playoff record does not necessarily mean he is choke artist either - granted he isn't Mr. Clutch or Superstar either. I pointed this out last week, but coming into the playoffs this weekend, Manning had a better career QB rating in the playoffs than Brady...something like 90 to 87. But it makes a key point that it is a team game, the QB is a huge part of it and a difference maker but it is not everything the media likes to make it out to be. The one year the Colts won the SB, Manning actually played worse than he did in other playoff years, but his defense actually performed well that year.

It's the same with Flacco compared to Ben. I am sure the media will start saying Flacco is better than Ben because of his recent performance in the post season, but in the whole picture of things (regular season, playoffs, clutch performance on 3rd down and late in games) I still think Ben is better and that is with a great amount of amazement and respect for how well Flacco has played in his last two post season appearances.

Yeah the year they won the SB I think he had like 3tds and 6ints in the playoffs. It was all defense for them in the playoffs. I've always said Rex Grossman should have gotten a ring for that game because he pretty much handed the trophy to the colts.

Exactly. When manning was at UT he got in trouble for sexual harassment against a local journalist because apparently he tried to rub up against her naked in the locker room. It was settled out of court but then he wrote about it later and apparently defamed her and had to pay her again. Do I still think Manning is the same idiot college kid he used to be. No.
