Apparently this year the flu is so bad that there is a strain of it that the shot isn't effecting. My in-laws are both RN's and said that it still will keep you from getting AS sick though. I hope like crazy I don't get it. They need some of TTF's patented hand gel. LOL!

I got a Flu shot and I've been off work all week with the Flu. Dr. Said it was a different strain that's going around right now.
My wife and son are getting over it too. Showed up at the inlaws house on Christmas to find out some family member had the Flu, but didn't want to miss out on seeing the family at Christmas. Now everyone is sick. Probably doesn't matter , cause if not there more than likely would have caught it somewhere else anyway?

I agree that going to work while sick with the flu is not always the best thing to do.

They were talking on the local news yesterday that it's getting so wide spread that it could become an epidemic. Crazy stuff!

This is what I was going to ask.

A LOT of people who get sick generically throw out the term "FLU" when in fact they just have a cold.

My 8 yo was actually diagnosed with the flu. A few days later my wife got sick (with a cold) and then myself (a cold too).
1/3 of my daughters class missed school the Monday and Tuesday before XMas with the flu.
A friend of my wife was sick so she had the rapid flu test which was negative (ie...she had a cold). But that didn't stop her for fishing for pity on Facebook by asking for prayers because she had the "FLU."

Yes the flu shot is only 25% effective this year. Not a biggie though because what is going around is a mild case and goes away in a few days.

No not really. Her, like most of her classmates and most of the other kids who went to MedExpress that week had mild symptoms. They included a cough, mild body aches (she had a headache), and low grade fever as opposed to higher fevers, aches and chills, and nausea and diarrhea.

EXACTLY!!! I had the actual influenza virus one time and dude I've never been so sick in my life. I actually wound up going to the hospital. I puked like crazy and had and extreeemely high fever. My buddy was at work about a month ago and said he "had the flu" and I said "dude if you really had the flu you would not be here because you'd be laid up". The actual flu aint no joke. I had it a few years ago again but I had a different type and it wasn't nearly as bad but it was still pretty awful.

Well the original topic has been well covered.

"Cold and rain for the game"

    "It benefits the Steelers"

    "No it benefits the Ravens"

Ok, topic done. Now lets move on to the flu.

I wouldn't let it bother me. I'd go with him and sit right next to him. I don't let thing like that affect me.

I really would say it benefits the Steelers if it takes the deep ball away from the Rats. That's my biggest fear with this d is getting beat deep. I'm sure Flacco will still try their patented play of trying to get a penalty though.

JMO, but I think we rely more on quick routes whereas Baltimore is more North-South. And with their patented "just go deep and flail to induce a flag" offense, I'd give them a slight edge. ;)

(I was also under the influence when I said it, and kinda hungover right now. So if none of that makes sense, yeah. Me neither. :lolol:)
