I think he has two more years left on his contract, that's when the Steelers usually redo their HC contract. After two consecutive 8-8 seasons this team is headed in the right direction by winning the AFC North division.

Agreed! He's deserving of an extension.

I would wait, Bell is the reason this team made it, lets see how they do without him.

Why not, most turned sour when they started losing...

I'm not a huge Tomlin supporter but based on the history of this organization and his overall record, he aint going anywhere for a while unless he, himself decides to.

Win a couple playoff games first.

I'm not against resigning/extending him. But let's not be too hasty. (Then again, his contract doesn't affect the cap like some players we jumped at rashly)

Maybe he thinks they should retire Bell and then hire him as coach

I disagree that one man got us to where we are today. Granted Bell is good, but the Steelers in case you have not noticed play as a team. When one screws up they all screw up. Look at the o-line and how much time they are giving Bell. They also open up the holes for Bell. Not a one man show by no means.

Sorry, I fired him and the entire staff after we lost to Tebow in Denver! I am not one of his fans, and wouldn't address a contract extension at this time! He lost to "bottom feeders" this year and has been 8 and 8 for the last two seasons, in addition the stupid and idiotic play last week letting Wing throw to the Bengals WR!! Let him show us how good he is by advancing in the playoffs and learn to use the clock effectively, then maybe a chance for an extension may exist!!

He's had the team in the playoffs three out of five years. Made the Super Bowl in one of those and hasn't had a losing season.
Saying he hasn't done anything is just a flat out lie.

Giving him more $ when his contract is not even over is a waste of $$$$ / Tomlins team was loaded with talent all those years, and ist a flat out lie to say it wasnt..

It's an extension , not a raise! And I don't recall anyone saying the team wasn't talented?

Why extend? For the reasons the steelersrule6 stated in his post.

I hope we keep him for 10 more years. He's a solid coach and we're lucky to have him. Let's try not to forget that for one of those 8-8 seasons we were without a franchise qb for 4 games.
