On WDVE, post-game, Charlie Batch indicated he'd be shocked if Bell played. He sounded certain that Harris will be starting.

Thanks for the comics update. And I'm old enough to remember when they used to say that about Bucky too!

    Fuqua was out, too!

Grrrrr... Why did you have to bring up that game! Jack Lambert called it the toughest loss he ever experienced.

John Stallworth said that Noll changed the approach on offense to accommodate Reggie Harrison at RB, and it was too much change in a short window. He still believes they'd have won that game if they'd simply played their usual offense.

No problem. Yeah Ed Brubaker took care of the Bucky thing. LOL. However, if Bell DID have a healing factor it would be REALLY nice right about now!

Which universe BFT? I agree no one stays dead and certainly not the most popular antihero marvel every produced.

I was reminded of the same thing. However, what we tend to forget about that game, is that the Steelers D, which had been invincible prior to that game, gave up 24 points, which was the real killer.

Yeah Lambert said something like he felt like that if they could have drank a 6 pack and came back out there they could have won. I hope the raiders are happy knowing that it took us losing TWO of our best players for them to beat us though. How's that for "Raider Mystique"?

And that 1976 Steeler team was probably the best all time Steeler team and didn't get to the Super Bowl because of injuries to Franco and Rocky and loss to the Raiders.

If he can play, he should play. There is time to heal up in the offseason. This is the playoffs. This is my opinion though.

On defense they definitely were the best. Rules were changed because of how dominant they were.

So Tomlin isn't the only Steelers coach to start a season off slow?

Definitely not. Noll's 1989 team lost their first two game 51-0 to the Browns at home followed by a 46-10 in Cinci.

Is good news if no serious injury , but I still see no way he plays . You can't roll him out there at 70 % vs. the Rats his cutting and quick step in the hole is what makes him . IMO a huge mistake long term to play him if not close to 100 % . No way will he be....

I am still going to hold out on the optimism until MRI results come back. When your body is injured in a place like the knee, and main joint, the surrounding muscles can retract to sort of protect the injured area. That is why a lot of the guys can walk on their own, and initial tests can still show the knee has solid support. 24 hours later though, as things loosen up, the effects of the injury can be seen.

Hopefully it is what it is, just a hyper-extension, but usually you see more with that kind of mechanism of injury......... Time will tell.....

I'm a little concerned because (and this might be a strange reason) Bell has been very quiet on Facebook. He's usually a pretty active FB poster, especially after a win, but there hasn't been much since the game other than a couple of " non- personal" posts.

First let me say even if his knee is hyper ex, he wont play saturday, from the looks of that hit he most likely has a tear on ligaments, and you know if he did play that thug Suggs would target his knee just like he targeted blounts knee in our last game against that bunch of dirty playing scum.....

yeah same here, I'm more worried about the dirty Rat players going after the knee, I'd rather have him sit out and rest

Who is the #40 Harris we speak of? I fell asleep in the 3rd quarter.

Josh Harris #40, Undrafted FA signing, from Wake Forest, RB, took a 59 yard run, on his first attempt of the game, it called back on a very ticky tack, holding call on Ramon Foster, he did a good job of running the ball last night. I thought he also played well during the Steelers pre-season games, when I watched them.
