Good players make coaches smart and bad players make them dumb. Tom Moore's offenses in Pittsburgh were often bad, Bill Belichik was 26-55 in Cleveland ...

Well when it comes to Haley the Rooney's apparently agree though. Also the fact that our offense is now ranked higher than it ever was with BA sorta vindicates them. Also Ben got hurt in that first year with Haley and we were 6-3 and then it went on a downhill slide so Haley's offensive rankings are a little skewed because Ben missed some time. There's no reason why we shouldn't keep an upward trajectory with the staff we have as a whole now. BA is Mike Martz 2.0 and that is actually fine for today's NFL but just not for Pittsburgh. It's dangerous for qbs and now AZ is bottom feeding at qb because of injuries at the position. It really makes me wonder if it's a coincidence or not. Haley brought back Steeler football and I'm happy about that. We control the ball and we run it good now. We didn't do that when BA was here. We also have really good play action now and I would love to see a stat on how often we have an empty backfield on 3rd and short or even 3rd and goal in the red zone. That was the stuff that drove me crazy about BA. He still does that crap in AZ too. He was doing it in that Rams game. There was a 3rd and 4 that would have got them in FG range and instead he throws the bomb for an incompletion. When I saw that play I just had a sigh of relief knowing that we don't really have to worry about that here anymore. It's not really that he's a bad coach but just that I don't think his system was right for here.

Moore is actually BA's assistant in AZ now.

You're the one who first brought it up about how winning seems to follow Bruce, so Arizona came to mind. This was the only game I've watch with AZ, I thought he was the OC too, since it looks like he's calling the plays 41 seconds into this video

Harold Goodwin is listed as the Offensive Coordinator/Offensive Line coach.

^^ which explains why they're going through so many QB's quicker than Jerry Jones goes through a new pair of socks. BA almost got Andrew Luck killed, now he's back on track with BA gone. Haley did a better job in KC than what BA is doing. He turned a 2-14 team into a playoff team with Matt Cassel as his QB

I don't recall Gailey being The OC for Big Ben.

I'm sure he would have rather had Ben over Tomczak and a young Kordell Stewart.

BA had the defense to back his offense here. BA neglected the o-line here and got the crap beat out of his qb for it. same as BA still does. what's he on his 4th string guy this year? BA also neglected using heath most of the time.

haley isn't totally running his own offense either. remember after year one, they all got together and pretty much re-wrote the offensive playbook.

whiz was, well pretty vanilla. played it more to cowhers game plan. win with defense and score just enough to sit on the ball until the end of the game. definitely not a high powered offense.

that's my summation of the 3.:cool:

Yes, to point out his overall knowledge of football given the success he has had, you can't go throwing stats out comparing an OC when the other is a HC.

Haley drove the Chiefs into the ground, had two losing seasons (4-12 and 5-8) and was fired before finishing his third season, hes a failure as a HC.

Calling the plays does not make him the OC, they have one.

My issue with BA was always his playcalling, not necessarily his game planning.

He's calling the plays in Arizona , same difference he's calling the same crap as he did here, and the same crap that got Luck sacked 40 times, he's getting the qb's killed. If BA is so great how did Indy's offence get better when BA left?

lol Haley drove the chiefs into the ground? he's the one who brought them back to life, until the injuries killed that team. BA won't last 3 seasons in Arizona for the exact same reason, the injuries are piling up with him too.

Haley is clearly the better OC, you just don't like Haley's personality. BA had his explosive players in 2011 they were putting up similar #'s as the guys Haley has now, BA got nowhere cus of the D. Haley is winning with only the offense, at the beginning of the season he only had Ben, Bell, and Brown to work with. Bryant just came out of nowhere, he's doing what Wallace did with BA. Only Bryant will become a more complete receiver under Haley's wing. BA would've turned Bryant into another 1 trick pony.

The question is who was the Steelers best OC, not who was Ben's best OC. And I'm going to tell you something, Chan Gailey was a darn good OC!

Can't believe some of the names supporting Haley and or Arians here. Winning cures everything, everything!

    BA gets my vote

Kordell is the reason I became a fan as a kid and so he will always hold a special place in my heart. I just don't think he was used correctly and was on the verge of even being ahead of his time.

Kordell could have been one of the best WRs in the league. Instead, he'll be remembered as a mediocre quarterback who choked in clutch time.

No question about that. And he may have had more success with some of the pistol style offenses today.

Yeah that's what I was meaning when I was saying that he was borderline ahead of his time. The game was fast then but it's even more fast now and guys like him could have very well thrived in these Chip Kelly type systems.

Well, the question in the OP was literally who was the best since Ben's been here.
