In your opinion, which Steeler is the biggest miss on the Pro Bowl list?
    Can choose only one.

DD but a strong case could be made for Heyward too.

Tough call. DeCastro and Heyward are a coin toss for me. In the end it doesn't matter, because they'll be busy preparing for a game in Arizona.

I'm going with Heath... His impact on the last few games were HUGE. Not sure if we win those games without him, Bell doesn't get as many yards, and Ben gets sacked a lot more. He is KEY at the TE position!

Yeah, hard poll to answer. I would pick DeCastro, Heyward and Heath. Even though Harris has made a huge impact he hasn't played enough to have the body of work this season and Gay, although improving, is not pro-bowl, yet! Unfortunately, I get used to Heath getting screwed. He is one of the most consistent and reliable players in the league but doesn't get the respect. Too many people anymore only look at receptions for TE and not all the other things that make them great.

Gay had 3 pick 6's. That's why I'd pick him. DD would be next. Although really we all should have voted for Ike so maybe that would keep him away from the Super Bowl. LOL.

All these guys were big for the Steelers, but against the rest of the competition in the NFL, I'm just not so sure. I was happy for Timmons, though a little surprised.

DeCastro is having the best season of any Steelers OG since the heyday of Alan Faneca. I picked him although I also feel Heyward is having the best season of any defensive player.
Miller is having a great year- one of his best in a career in which he is nearly the 2nd leading reception maker in team history. However he's in a numbers game, he's the 4th best TE in the conference right now which isn't enough to get him in the game.

My view as well. If we don't make the SB, I feel pretty good about DeCastro being picked as an alternate (assuming that's still done by a "football person" and not fan popular vote.

Fully agree. Don't think any of these guys deserve it, to be frank. Even with the 42 guys that get added on each year because of injuries, I don't think any of these guys make it, save for DD who might get credit for Bell's rampage.

Without a doubt . He is doing exactly what you seen him do in college , his ability to get out in front and lead a runner is just simply top notch. I love that pick , I pimped him hard and so far he has looked the part and then some..

I have a rule. I'll only say someone deserves to be in the pro bowl if I can justify removing a current selection. I wouldn't remove anyone for Harrison, Gay, Miller or Heyward. I just don't think those guys belong over anyone that made it in. DD is hard for me to put in because I have no basis of really comparing him to many of the other guards in the league. Without watching all their games, it's tough to rank OL. So I can't say he belongs over any current selection because I just don't know if he does or not.

If he does belong in there, who should be removed and why is DD better than them? That's the question that needs to be answered before saying DD belongs. Just my thoughts on the pro bowl

If you go back into the Archives of the old board
(some actually can &do)I basically begged the Steelers to draft him. This being from a person that doesn't get excited about OL/DL. I truly felt that he was a plug and play 12 year player multiple pro bowls.I believe Mike Munchak has helped him tremendously. It has taken him sometime but he is on his way. Can you say Big Red.

When Decastro was being drafted, this site existed and the old board was gone. I know that because I also talked about how badly I wanted Decastro but I could never get on the old board. Lets not pat ourselves on the back too hard though, most Steelers fans out there wanted Decastro once he fell to us.

Correct, this board was created in October of 2011. Decastro was drafted April 2012.
