I think if we win both we could be hosting a playoff game at home. Quite possibly the Ravens.

The question was simple. Is there any scenario in which we lose this week and are eliminated from the playoffs? Obviously I know how important the game is week 17 if were still in the playoff hunt.

But it doesn't matter, I figured it out already.

It's pretty simple, beat KC today and we clinch a wildcard spot, win next week against the bungles and we win the Division, just win these last two games like they are capable of doing and this season will be a success beyond expectations...

---Good! It is always an advantage to be prepared.

But anyway on a more optimistic note there is no scenario where the Steelers lose to KC and are absolutely eliminated. They also could even still win the division if Cinci loses out and Bal loses a game. This could easily happen.

Now to get back to this thread. What is happening in this thread is the fans are putting the cart before the horse. All of the generalities and comments are being made without any explanations due to prior knowledge of possible scenarios. [working those PO calculators overtime :smiley1:]

Example: Wardismvp said: "I think if we win both we could be hosting a playoff game at home."

That is of course correct. Because he knows if the Steelers win both games they clinch the division.

Then he added: " Quite possibly the Ravens."

That of course is also correct.

But which wild card team they play will be determined by whether they are 3rd or 4th seed. If Bal also wins out they become the 5th seed and TS will play them unless Indy loses a game then TS become the 3rd seed and will play the other wild card 6th seed. I don't care who it is.

There are plausible scenarios that Bal could lose a game and still be a wild card. [from 1 of their fansites]

A wild-card berth (No. 5 or No. 6 seed): But there are scenarios where the Ravens can reach the postseason even if they lose one of their final two games. For example, the Ravens get into the playoff with a 10-6 record if the Bengals lose out [nice, that would mean TS win the div.] and the Bills lose at least one game. So, the Ravens wouldn't be eliminated from the playoffs if they lose at Houston. But they would lose control of their playoff fate if they do so.

A lot of experts have 3 teams from the AFC North getting in the PO's. I suppose that would work.
