I don't know. Pretty sure Namath may have been the 1st QB to throw over 4000 yds. I know he is pretty much known for one thing with the win guarantee, but he was the face of the Jets for a 6-7 year period. Len Dawson was absolutely a franchise QB, he played for the Texans/Chiefs for nearly 20 years, he threw more TD passes than any qb in the 60's, and he won 2-3 MVPs. Warner had a short career because he started so late, but he was MVP twice and was the focal point of the greatest show on turf and he played a pretty critical role in resurrecting the Arizona Cardinals franchise.

Warner had a pretty dang good OC in AZ too though. LOL. I just HAD to throw that in there!

I know, it was a joke. Some people feel Whiz was still calling the plays.

    You got it :lolol:

You mean their passing game? Because they had the worst running game in the NFL under Haley.

When Haley went to KC he had the #1 running game, then the injury bug hit that team. In Arizona who needs a running game when he had Fitzgerald, Boldin, and the other guy, their short passing dumb off's were their running game.

A fact that very few QB's that aren't elite have won a SB? Yes.

Just noting on Namath- he WAS a franchise qb. His numbers don't look good in today's light, but trust me, at his peak, he was the most famous football player in America and everything revolved around him. If you lived through that era you know what I"m talking about.

:hijacked:... Good points about the qb`s, but, as far as the ORIGINAL post...

I know it`s blasphemey, to say this here, but, we really SHOULD be looking out for Cleve...

As has been said, look what they`ve done WITHOUT a top flight qb...

I really don`t think Johnny is the answer, but I am forced to root for him this weekend... I would rather see Cincy lose, than win...

For the future, who knows? It MAY be "Wash, Rinse, Repeat"...

    OR...
Haslam MAY have learned something from his short time as a minority owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers, and stick with Farmer, and Pettine...

Laugh at them all you will, but remember what they did to us, the second time we played them this year, and notice,
their record is only ONE game behind ours, 13 weeks into the season...

They have also managed to do that with a sub-par qb, their best receiver suspended for the 1st 10 games, and more key injuries to their D, that even WE have had to deal with, in recent history...

They`ve made 2 afterthoughts at runningback, look like studs, for parts of the year, thanks to their O-Line...

And they are on their THIRD starting center, after Mack broke his leg playing against us in week 4...

I know, we lost Pouncey to friendly fire in week one, last year, I`m just sayin...

They are NOT the Clowns we are used to...

This is a resilient group, and is gonna threaten us as true rivals again, starting next season...

They already split the head to head series with us, and, ALMOST BEAT US IN THE SECOND HALF, OF THE FIRST GAME...

I like to laff at them too...

But, I think the truth is, their fans may finally be right, about, "Just wait till next year!!!"...:lolol:

I`ve heard that since `99, and before they left, but look at where this division is right now...

No reason to think it`s gonna get any easier next year...

    GO STEELERS!!!

How many times did you vomit on yourself writing that? If I didn't know any better, I'd say you are a closet Browns fan :lolol:

I'd love for us to be able to revive that rivalry, I loved to hate those guys, the dog pound, all that, it was a classic rivalry but I just don't see it happening. They are definitely better but as far as I am concerned, they threw away any chance at making a run at the playoffs by naming Johnny the starter. Maybe he proves me wrong but I do not see NFL caliber material in him. Hoyer has hit a rough patch but he is a much better QB then Manziel.

They put themselves in this spot by drafting him though, the elephant in the room that was going to have to play eventually. Now Hoyer will be gone next year and they will have to ride out next season with JM, that should be fun watching that train wreck

I want him to beat the Bengals this week and more importantly beat the Ravens the last game of the season. I don't like him but he could become a very important factor in the Steelers winning the division.

I think his arrogant as well but I think we need to root for the Browns this week, just in case we lay a egg in Atlanta.

He might very well have some level of talent but I honestly expect him to be a guy similar to Cutler. A guy that might very well have a strong arm and be able to make some throws but who also has an ego that's bigger than his brain and will try and force a lot of throws which will cost his team. He sorta strikes me in that way.

Need to take care of business either way. Fact is, even with losing to the Steelers this past weekend, the Bengals could lose to the Broncos next week, then beat the Steelers and either claim the div title or knock the Steelers out of the playoffs.

Johnny Football is lacking the humility gene, something all truly GREAT quarterbacks have.
