I read a lil snipit today that Monday was the players day off, but most the team, showed up to lift weights and watch game film... Now, i knoW no employee likes to go to wrk on there day off... But since the pst 3 years this team has been wildly inconsistant, i'm wondering why players haven't done this in the past. Is it the coach's haven't suggested it in the past,or that most players just don't have the comment to put in the time?? Anyway here's to hoping it wrks out for the best.. and maby it will become a reg thing for this team....

Who knows... Players are lazy and diva these days and their bull**** Union props that up. Hopefully it's a sign of commitment... Some have more than others league wide, but it can't hurt right?

Some of these guys are pretty beat up Monday morning.

Any one remember the beginning of North Dallas Forty?

Being beat up has nothing to do with watching game film, and i think players are supposed to report to facilities on mondays anyway before they get the day off, so go ahead and kill 2 birds with 1 stone.... and i nve seen North Dallas Forty so no

Don't it's slow and boring with no real payoff....

I like older films, but this one was hard to make it through for me....

Tuesdays are the usual day off for most NFL teams playing Sunday or Monday. Teams that played Sunday will usually come in Monday throw some weight around and watch film. Teams playing Monday will report Wednesday. Teams playing Thursday will usually have Friday off. USUALLY.....However its always up to the HC to set the practice schedule.

I think it is a regular thing and we don't hear much about it that often because it's such a common practice, even on the scrub teams.

This. There's always people in the training room, "day off" from practice or not.

It's hard to tell without the full context, but there is more to that quote.

I would like to think that a vet told everyone to be there Monday read to lift if possible or study film because there is no room for mistakes now.

I don't think that partial quote has any negative connotation to Tomlin, but rather it was commentary on Beachum's commitment. He is definitely a hard worker on the team, so whether he was speaking for himself or the prevailing opinion of the team, we don't know. The fact that most of them showed up is great. No fault to the few that didn't, as we don't know what they may have been doing. As a fan, I'd rather see them working out than shooting commercials. If you recall during the playoffs of Ben's rookie year, he was in a bunch of commercials. He didn't play particularly well in those playoff games (thank God for the Jets' kicker). Could it have been because he was filming commercials instead of watching film? I don't know. But I like Beachum's commitment as do I like to hear that about the rest of the team.

Maybe the younger players are finally realizing that just wearing the black and gold doesn't make for automatic wins.
