The win against the Bengals was great but when you have losses against Tampa the Jets and New Orleans put us with no margin for error from here on out. Most likely the ravens are going to run the table

The Atlanta game is already making me nervous.

Absolutely true. The Steelers need to run the table as well. If they both run the table, sorry crows, your out. The Steelers have the tie breaker.

Your right, if the Steelers take care of their business. They will be OK.
But, you never know with Baltimore, Texans are still in the hunt, Cleveland is too. Neither one of those two teams is out of anything yet,

Eh, there actually is a margin for error, and I'd be surprised if the Ravens won out.

The Atlanta game is not a must win game as long as we take care of business at home against KC and Cinci. I played around with the ESPN playoff generator, and put together a worst case scenario where we go 10-6 with a loss to Atlanta. In the worst case scenario, we do not make it in at 10-6, but if I change the result of ANY of the following games over the next 3 weeks (change from my worst case to the result below), that one change is enough to get us in at 10-6:
Week 15: if Denver beats SanDiego; if Cleveland beats Cinci; if the Jags beat the Ravens
Week 16: if Houston beat the Ravens; if the 49ers beat the Chargers; if Denver wins in Cinci
Week 17: if KC beats the Chargers; if the Browns beat the Ravens

I think it's a near certainty that at least one of the games I've listed above will go our way. Now, the best thing would be to win out. We control our own destiny for the division, and that would be the ideal road into the post season.

Well, we didn't beat the Jets and we're still in it, so there goes that theory :lolol:

I came up with a scenario this morning where if the Steelers finish 9-7 and beat the Chiefs they get in and it really isn't all that unrealistic as it would have the Chargers losing twice (decent chance as they finish up w/Denver at home and on the road at SF and KC), Kansas City would lose the tiebreaker to us if we beat them, and Buffalo and Miami lose games on the road at New England.

Granted - I don't want to take that chance, but the bottom line is this if the Steelers lose to Atlanta they are still very much in the playoff race and have a decent chance of getting in if they beat KC and almost assuredly get in if they beat both KC and Cincinnati.

I am speaking of this strictly from a playoff perspective - I do believe they are likely going to have to win out to get the division because I do think the Ravens will win out.

After the packers hammer the falcons tonight we get them on a short week, if Ben can generate offense like he did yesterday the falcons will be an easy win, AB and Bryant should be really fast on that dome turf, and Bell can have breakaway speed to give him a 150 yard game, uhhhh, ike taylor on jullio jones creates a nightmare scenario...

I think they can if they beat Atlanta, that's the type of game that's been their achilles all year.

I think the Steelers will win out in the regular season and go 11-5. The line on the Atlanta game this week is the Steelers giving the Falcons 1.5 points. I'm already all over that bet because I don't think the line will change much before the game and I think the Steelers will win. The over/under is 51 and I took the over for a smaller amount then I have on the game. I think the Atlanta game is their toughest game on the remaining schedule. They needed to win 4 in a row to clinch the division. One down and three to go.

I believe that Real Steel is just a BOT, automatically posting the same threads after a win or loss. Sheesh, let's get a little more creative.

The Falcons game scares me. Not because they are a scary team per se, but that they have been playing a little better as of late (they beat a very good Cardinals team last week), they are a pass-heavy offense, AND the scariest - we seem to always fall flat after a HUGE victory like yesterday's. Additionally, at 5-7, they are aiming to win their division (egads, can't believe I just said that).

The good side is that they will be coming off a Monday night game against the Packers, so hopefully they'll be a little bit more gassed than normal. The O needs to come out and make a statement early.

They are all most wins from here. Going into the playoffs with a 4 game winning streak no one would want to play us

True that Real. Our young team hasn't had much experience with a real playoff push when we are in the thick of things (as we kinda back door competed for one last year), but finishing off last season 6-2 should really give us confidence that we can finish the year strong and earn a playoff berth

I'm ok with the hard line. In fact, I'm looking forward to a future thread: "Winning the Superbowl means nothing if we don't win it next year." :D

I just worry that Atlanta has the weapons to exploit our secondary, especially Julio and Hester. Hester sucks, but he's incredibly fast and our DB's tend to get burned deep a lot. Fortunately Atlanta's defence is really bad, so we should be able to outscore them.
