I am sure most of us in reality will say that this Defense is putrid. It's a lost cause for this season.

The Defense will even be younger next season which I hope spells the end of LeBeau and his old mummified outdated scheme that is SOOOO complicated that it takes years to get on the field. Sorry folks, this is a problem. Seriously need a fresh approach. I'm not sure Butler will bring that being an understudy of Coach LeBeau.

I am personally looking forward to someone else in the #24 uniform. Should have been 5 years ago.
Watching a Future Hall of Famer struggle being a shell of what he was is upsetting. #43 needs to retire.
Coach Tomlin, you can be as politically correct as you want, but Cam Thomas is brutal. Bye bye.
Oh where oh where is Cortez Allen? Better figure this situation out front office. On the hook now for a player with a ghost injury and can't cover a grill. Maybe it's time to fess up that it was a mistake?

This Defense needs help in ALL areas. This upcoming draft should be heavy handed for the Defense. Starting with secondary first.

Changes have to be made, Tomlin has two more years to straighten it out. If he can. I am starting to doubt. First move is for LeBeau to retire or to retire BA style...

Hope MT is just being political correct here, and doesn't really believe this. If he does believe this we are in more trouble than we think.

Well, I very much doubt he'd say: "Oh God, he's just awful. And we're lumbered with him! Why the hell did I get rid of Josh Mauro???"

IMO, I think we have talent on defense. To me, that's not the issue. The issue is we don't have talent in the right places on defense. This is the new NFL - it's a passing league (for the most part, there are exceptions) and having a strong secondary is key to winning consistently. Our secondary is HORRIBLE. Grab all the quick, play-making LB's you want - if your secondary s*cks as bad as ours, you get torched early and often. It's not like no one else knows this. All teams know it and will continue to focus on it until we fix the problem.

As for whomever said our D was 'good' against Indy. Really? We gave up 34 pts and Luck threw for 400 yds / 3 TDs. If not for Ben having a godlike day, we get smoked and we're now talking about another season that got away from us. Yep, we played aggressive, and that helped. But don't be confused - aggressive does not equal 'good'. The planets lined up that day thanks to the offense. Otherwise, loss.
