NEW STAR WARS TRAILER

Well, here's the 88 second world premiere teaser trailer for The Force Awakens. I just figured some of my fellow nerd friends on here would be interested in this. It premiered in 7 cities and Knoxville was actually one of them but I just couldn't bring myself to go to the movies and pay to see it when I knew it would be online anyway. There's some cool stuff and one things that I don't know how I feel about. What do you guys think? Also the voice sounds like Ole Anderson when he was voicing The Black Scorpion. Extra nerd cred for knowing what I'm talking about. LOL.

Hey thanks dude. I didn't know how to do that. LOL. I didn't realize that was Andy Serkis talking. He's actually a really awesome voice over and motion cap artist. I feel the same about the light saber. It's just not practical and actually the whole outfit and everything just really sorta gives me more of an Assassin's Creed vibe than Star Wars. I gotta admit though that I really got a fuzzy feeling when I saw the Falcon. Han is my favorite Star Wars character ever and the Falcon is just an awesome ship. I think the reason he was wearing that Storm Trooper armor is because he had maybe done like Luke and put it on as part of an infiltration or something. I also assume that was Tattoine but I didn't see the multiple moons in the background. This will also be the first Star Wars movie to not have Wedge in it as well. The guy that plays him said he didn't want to do it because he thought it would be boring.

 

Yeah, by the time A New Hope begins, most of the Stormtroopers were human recruits, although it's my understanding that there were still some scattered clones throughout the Stormtrooper forces.

I have to say the trailer has me pretty excited. It just felt and sounded to me like real Star Wars, much moreso than the prequels ever did, and if that holds up for the whole movie, I'll be thrilled.

 

From what I can gather George Lucas sorta wrote like an "original treatment" or something but his contribution is more than likely gonna be highly minimal. And I'm sure Binks will be gone. I mean... it's just the humane thing to do. LOL.

Yeah and if you watch it closely it actually pulsates and looks almost like it has electricity running through it. I really hope enough people complain online and they decide to change it.

That reworked trailer is awesome.

It amazes me the amount of hate the original trailer generated in the youtube comments due to the race of the stormtrooper. Apparently we have a long way to go in this country.

 

That's hilarious! The fact that they showed the droid through the rock is just great. Also Jabba just being in the middle of the desert is hilarious. But man it adds sooooo much to the story! LOL!!! Also, for the LAST TIME, HAN SHOT FIRRRRRRRRRRST!!!!!!!!

BTW if you guys have never seen "Honest Trailers" before on Youtube I HIGHLY recommend you look them up. The one for The Phantom Menace is hilarious!

 

I think he was just wearing the armor anyway. I don't think he was really a true Storm Trooper. Just a guess but why would the film try to get you to emotionally invest in a single Storm Trooper ya know? Although stranger things have happened. Jar Jar Binks being one of them.

 

I've seen that Everything Wrong With series and it is hilarious too. I have a buddy that owns a comic book store that is just like the guy that does those videos and I don't even know if he has even seen them. LOL. One day he ranted for like 15min without a breath in talking about all the things that were wrong with The Dark Knight Rises. I didn't mind though because I agreed with him. That movie did SO many things that got under my skin.

 

Gonna be a Looonnngg year, till December 2015...
That trailer looked like the next series is gonna be pretty cool, and more in touch with the original series.
And personally, I LOVED the look of the new lightsaber!!

Yeah, after y`all pointed it out, it wouldn`t be very "practical", but c`mon...

Yer talking "practical", in a world where laser guns, ships like the Millenium Falcon, faster than light travel, and the whole "moving objects with your mind" thing, are normal, and commonplace...

Sure, it would totally fail, as a practical "guard", and light sabers never seem to slide down each other`s blade, when engaged, anyhow, but lighten up...

It looks cool as hell!!!

 

I was actually gonna resurrect the thread I had started with the first teaser to talk about this. I'm getting more excited with everything I see and hear. I still just can't see how they are gonna make it make sense that the Dark Side can still be going since Return of the Jedi wrapped up everything so definitively. I still loved seeing Han though because he's my favorite Star Wars character. There was also some art that leaked which showed the face of the Sith with the controversial Lightsaber and his face is basically a metal grill. It looks pretty sweet. I really hope they find a way to bring in someone from Jango and Boba Fett's line. In the extended universe Boba was actually completely resurrected but Disney has totally wiped out all of that. So I don't know how they can work that out. Chewie was actually dead in the extended universe.

 

I'm "of a certain generation" (close anyway) and I've never seen the attraction to Star wars after the 1st one.
Now..........Star Trek, on the other hand...............
