Agree. Add McCarthy. And I would take Fisher...or Lewis. Haha.

Players gotta play period! The D was spirited for 1.5 quarters. That don't cut it. Ben's passes were high but still a few of them hit people in the hands and were dropped... That don't cut it. This team has a knack for shooting itself in the foot and has for years if anybody wants to be honest. Sure some folks have off days, it just happens and just so to every team! The thing is time after time year after year and coach to coach, the same **** happens. I'm a die hard from California and can see it!

Cowher had the teams pulse, but wouldn't pull the trigger much (Marty schottenheimer was his mentor) and his success was up and down good and bad. TOMLIN comes in and we have success same as Bill (win one lose one in the big dance) and seems to be a lot ballsier but can't just get the teams pulse anymore... Hence up and down good and bad.

Difference is, Tomlin has a franchise QB that was gifted to him day one! Cowher found one (against his will) and we know the rest.

i honestly believe Tomlin does not know how to get the most from players. Bill did but was scared at times to take off the cuffs. Tomlin does not know how to assert his beliefs on this team as we settle for the same old same approach... System with lack of adjustment... Personnel with too much loyalty. Colbert plays his part as well. And ultimately I guess it's the Rooneys who should drop the hammer but seem resilient as well.

Ben with errant throws (and there were a few mixed in with a dumb decision or rushed decision or 2) played good enough to win today. The folks letting the pigskin bounce off of their hands did not. The D did not play all 4 qtrs nor were they coached into having the best personnel available put into the best position available on the field.

Plenty of of blame to go around, but it's not entirely on Ben, Archer (who if used more often wouldn't get singled out by fans or Defenses) or The D in totality, etc...

2 weeks to prepare and the teacher didn't cut it. Not even close.

Dicks scheme does NOT work regardless if it shows flashes anymore. It's done!

Kicks of 50+ yards anymore isn't worth the risk. It's done!

    time management is done!

not getting the proper personnel (new or used) onto the field is done!

these aren't are fathers steelers and it's time to quit being a farm team for the NFL! Get these kids some hats and quit kicking the old tires!

Im sick of losing talent in the rotation! And losing Dbs a few weeks in after every draft. D line o line etc... It's maddening. There needs to be a change

I never said they were coaches who were "available." I said there were at least a dozen (and adding McCarthy, whom I forgot, the total is 14) who could win more consistently with Roethlisberger at QB than Tomlin has.

The only one on that list that is clearly better is Hoodie. The rest consists of "no way" and "maybes".

Look what Reid just did in KC. he is getting more out of Alex Smith than Tomlin is out of Roethlisberger.

Look what Kelly has just done in Philly. He's currently getting more out of Mark Sanchez than Tomlin is out of Roethlisberger.

And both men turned organizations around. Tomlin, meanwhile, has sunk one.

Care to refute any of that?

I am just tired of looking at Tomlin's face. I would almost rather go 6-10 with anyone else than to have to listen to his crap anymore. It is beyond obnoxious.

Okay, I'll play. As long as we're coming up with "fantasy" coaches, I'll take Shula, Noll, Walsh, Lambeau, Lombardi..............
We get it, you don't like Tomlin but the question remains the same: who takes his place? None of the ones you, or I, mentioned are going to be offered the job.

so you were saying this a few weeks ago when ben was breaking records? as far as smith, and I cant believe you are saying this, he is the 22nd ranked qb and ben is 9 th. I don't think the eagles or chiefs have won anything. my how soon we forget. this is hilarious

I'll go further, so that you can let the "dumb" statement I am making sink in.

Here is Chip Kelly's record the past two seasons: 19-9.
Here is Andy Reid's record the past two seasons: 18-9.
Here is Mike Tomlin's record the past two seasons: 15-13

Here are Chip Kelly's QBs during that span: Nick Foles, Michael Vick, and Mark Sanchez
Here is Andy Redi's QB during that span: Alex Smith
Here is Mike Tomlin's QB during the span: Ben Roethlisberger.

Do you need further explanation of why it is easy to see that Kelly and Reid could probably do more with Ben than Tomlin is doing?

Shhh. Don't say anything bad about Mikey. That is not allowed here. Tomlin is the greatest.

you really think ben would work in kellys system? for that matter andy runs the west coast and I think that is what haley is trying to do with ben. get him to get rid of the ball quick. if it anit working here, which I am not saying its not, then you think it will with reid? I guess if your happy with good regular seasons and no championships then reid is your man

Thank you for proving my point. Despite those #s, Reid's record is better.

Ask the Chargers, Raiders, Redskins how that coaching carousel has worked out.

Well done and this is also why it's tough to buy into the Cowher/Tomlin comparisons, as Cowher's lean years were with bad QBs

On most days Ben isa better qb than both, but not against the Saints. You think the Steelers ol is on par with the Bengals and Ravens? Really? We've given up twice the number of sacks of either team. Both of them have 3x as many rushing td's as we do. Both of them are better running the football than we are. Forsett is behind bell by all of 50 yards rushing(+-). Our receivers are Brown and ???? DHB? WHEATON? Does he have 30 receptions on the season? Bryant? He disappeared again. THe 100 year old Miller? You seriously overestimate the talent on this team. Brown and Bell are great weapons, but can't do it alone.

Cowher was 8-8 his last year with Ben as QB. Good thing this board wasn't around in Cowher's years or a handful woul constantly have been whining that Cowher doesn't know how to draft a QB.

Something needs to be done, as reading these posts, this team is tearing Steelers Nation apart. If only they lost to the Colts and Ravens and beaten the lesser teams, we could at least all agree they're not good enough. It's the inconsistency which is driving us all mad!!

Suppose all these coaches could win with BEN. How many of these coaches could win with this ROSTER? There are just a lot of holes here is why I ask.

Difference being, Tomlin has taken the team to 2 SBs. The Chokers have never won anything of importance, the Raiders haven't been relevant in 15 (?) years and I can't remember the last time the Redskins won a SB. How many coaches have come and gone for those 3 teams since one of them has won a SB?
