A safety playing his position? Keeping over the top contain? Who would've thunk it?

DHB looked worse on that route than Ike looks playing the ball on defense.

To be truthful, DHB should've gotten the pass a bit sooner. In my opinion anyways. Wouldn't have scored I don't think but it is what it is.

And Ben subtly placed the blame on Haley, saying he had no one to throw to underneath as they were in max protect.

I agree, freak, but he had a window to hit him in stride and it did t happen... Now DHB sucks yadda yadda yadda.

However, he does have both sidelines, the stands, the back of an official, or the best receiver on the team known as "a player in the area." Hey Ben, throw the ball away once in a while. Christ. Every pass does not have to be a completion or INT (or an overthrow I guess :dancing:)

No one is blaming DHB. He just didn't do our brainless QB any favors with that circus route.

Of course he did. Typical Ben. Blame everyone else

What? Can't make that argument, Shaner, Ben always backs his teammates.

If you want to say he doesn't go to bat for Haley, fine but thats not "blaming everyone else".

Fair enough. I shouldn't have said that. Ben does back his teammates. He never seems to back Haley though and always seems to blame him or makes passive aggressive comments like "I don't know, ask Todd." I don't have tape of that specific play, but I can guarantee there was at least one other option Ben could have thrown to other than DHB. Or he could have thrown it away or audibled out of that play if it looked like DHB was going to be doubled.

I was actually gonna ask you when you thought that Ben tried to blame people also. I really couldn't think of a time that he did. I can sure think of some times I would have LIKED for him too though. I honestly consider him loyal to a fault. I was just curious as to what you were referring to is all.

I don't buy the front Ben and Haley put on, they don't like each other and are just co existing, making the best of the situation.

Ben shouldn't have thrown that ball, just one of many bad passes he threw today.

Another question is why in the crap would DHB draw double coverage?! You ever think of that? They must have seen something on tape that tipped them off.

My post really isn't correct. He doesn't blame his teammates, but he sure as hell blames Haley, and it's not the first time by any means. There's no point in editing my post though because it's been quoted. But yeah, Ben is loyal to his teammates, but he shouldn't be throwing Haley under the bus like that, and Haley should never throw Ben under the bus either. These guys are all on the same side, save the fighting for behind closed doors

I seen an interview 2 weeks ago where Ben praised Haley. Ben said he has a good relationship with Haley and don't believe chatter. Where has Ben thrown Haley under the bus or vice versa? Can you confirm and did I miss something?

Not meant to be a poke Ben play... More of a "hey there was a safety back there" and why do we refuse to play our safeties as SAFETIES!!! Thread

I'm just going to disagree on the turning point...it was really the holding call which negated the huge sack. That gave them the first, close to goal and took the crowd right out of it. Collectively, you could feel whatever energy that was there leave the field and stands.

If Ben would have thrown the ball toward the back corner of the endzone DHB would have had a better chance because he had both DBs beat, but Ben through closer to the center of the field.

more than a double coverage was a single coverage with vaccaro play deep center field , the throw took a while to reach the end zone and vaccaro slided easily
