The AFC is very competitive this year
it's going to take at least 11 wins just to get a wildcard I believe

    Week 12 opponents:

    Bengals @ Texans (5-5)

    Ravens @ Saints (4-6)

    Browns @ Falcons (4-6)

All pretty weak opponents, but all on the road.

The Texans are playing pretty good ball now that they made the QB switch, cincy doesnt play well on the road so the texans could beat them sunday after surprising the browns, the saints could beat the rats, and the falcons have a good shot at beating the browns......

This team does not appear to be ready for the playoffs.

Ben needs to be able to consistently play at the level of the Colts and Ravens games. At least 80%-90% of that efficiency. And the same goes for the O-Line.

This defense is going to give up about 20 points (really 14 b/c they are creating turnovers now and sometimes a pick 6). This means the offense needs to be able to score 30 points. The offense is going to have to pick up the slack. Too much talent on the offense for them to still struggle so much.

This team has the ability to get themselves ready for the playoffs with consistent, focused play, after the bye.

We can all sit back and relax Sunday and hope those 3 teams lose.

I hope they do, but the Steelers need to take care of their own business. I'm not so certain that 3-2 down the stretch will be enough. They may need to go 4-1. IMHO, the only way they make it going 3-2 is if they take 2 from Cincy.

With this team's potential, the only game they should possibly struggle with is KC... however, I am reminded of the Bucs and the Jets... :lolol:

No QB has ever done that. None. Ever.

What Ben needs to do is lead our offense to at least 3 TD drives per game, and not give the opposing team defensive TDs or short fields. If he does that, we can hang with anyone.

So, with the exception of my listed percentages being high... this is pretty much what I've been saying for quite some time. So we agree.

We've won our last 4 out of 5. We've put up 30 points or more in 3 of them. And in the latest game they had to recognize what they were doing wrong, make adjustments and come back from being down to shutting the team out with 2 touchdown scores and a 6 minute running game on the last drive.

I think we have a good chance.

The thing I disagree with this is, the season doesn't end today. But if it did, the Steelers have 7 wins, Bungholes have 6. While understand the Steelers have played one more game, it still seems odd to me. The bungholes should have to go out and win the games to be put in first place. Besides that, the Steelers have a .63 winning percentage, the Bungholes have a .60. That's wins versus total games played. Not sure how the ties factor in, unless they have the same number of wins. Say, for example one team is 10-6 and the other is 9-5-2 10 wins has to be the division winner. So why aren't the Steelers in first now?

Ideally, the Steelers win out and the Bengals beat the Broncos. If both Steelers and Broncos have the same record (12-4) under that scenario, who has the 2nd seed?

The Broncos would have the #2 seed ...The reason because of Conference record ,the only wat it looks we could pass them is for them to loose 2 games and us win out ...

btw. the broncos has a tough schedule @kc @sd @cincy , miami buffalo and oak at home

but we will not win out

Neither will any of the other contenders. Look at the schedules for those teams - everyone is playing most of their games against teams that are still in the hunt.

The reason the Bungals are ahead of the Steelers is because of winning percentage. The NFL counts a tie as half a win and half a loss. The Bungals are at .650 and the Steelers are at .636. I think that is how it works but I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

so then if one team is 10-6 and the other is 9-5-2 and the count ties as half wins then these two teams would have the same winning percentage, yes or no?

The Steelers went from #6 to #5 seed with the Chiefs loss. They could move up to the #3 seed if the Bungals lose Sunday. Not bad for a bye week.
