I know he's the QB, if you don't think saying he played like crap isn't overly critical, ok, but you're not exactly fair in your judgment when it comes to Ben.

    21 of 32 for 207 yards, 65% completion, 1 TD 1 Int and 81.1 rating isn't playing like crap.

I have to agree, Bell deserves the game ball for sure. I just tend to think of the oline anytime a RB does well and kind of expect Bell to dominate but he went above and beyond that.

Stats don't tell the whole story. What the stats fail to tell you is Ben missed 2 throws to Bryant that would have been TD's. He missed a wide open Archer that would have been a TD and he missed a wide open Blount that would have been a 1st down. 2 of the sacks he took were on him. Plus he took points off the board by throwing that INT at the end of the 2nd half. That was a throw that shouldn't have ever happened.

That's not overly critical, it's critical based on his play. My judgement is perfectly fair. If a guy plays great, I say so, if he plays like crap, I say so. It doesn't matter to me who the player is.

It kind of is, when you expect him to be elite.....but I digress, don't mean to get in the middle of something

You're not getting in the middle of anything. Is anyone here going to argue that Manning and Brady aren't elite? They have poor games too.

Shaner can point to missed receivers but thats easy for fans to say sitting on their couch and you don't have to duck that pass rush. What about the gritty plays he makes like the scramble for a first down? Game over if he doesn't make that. Peyton was faced with a good pass rush Sunday, managed 7 points and a loss. Against Miami, Brady had numbers like Bens yesterday and he lost. All QB's make mistakes, fail to see open receivers, ect, this notion that elite QB's don't do that is flat out wrong.

A crappy game to me is throwing under 200 yards and multiple turnovers.

Funny you mention this. A good friend of mine is a Giants fan, and he described Eli this way. But Eli has 2 SB rings and 2 matching SB MVP nods to go with them. He didn't care... he said the guy's playing like a bum, right now. Just mentioning because this comment reminded me of that conversation.

I agree with you that the current QBs that are considered elite have bad games. I've seen this. I think my frustration with Ben is that he doesn't consistently put points on the board. These missed opportunities continue even though many of them are created. It is true that Ben makes many gritty plays. I am not denying that. However, it seems that he misses just as many plays that could be ground-breaking for the game.

I understand the argument regarding the pressure he receives from the pass rush. However, the league's other top QBs handle rushes also, and still put up a lot of points.

Whenever a poster is critical of Ben's performance I hear: 1) The O-Line played like crap and Ben was running for his life, or 2) The receiver was out of position or should have tackled Godzilla to the ground and snatched the ball out of the air. If there is a bad play involving Ben, then it seems all I hear is that it's everyone else's fault.

And then Ben goes on the record saying he needs to play better... :lolol:

I never suggested Ben gets the game ball. I justed stated the facts that some on here don't like Ben and it's pretty obvious who they are.

Youre always the first to jump on Bens balls and you can't deny that.

Eli isn't having a good year but I hear that has a lot to do with the new OC but Eli is too good a soldier to complain. I live in NY, so thats what they have been saying on the talk shows.

Back to Ben, I yell at Ben, yesterdays pick, I was like "come on Ben! What was that!" :lolol:

But I don't think he had a crappy game, not one of his best but not crappy either. I think he deserves a lot of credit for playing as well as he did under that pressure. I think you can make an argument for Rodgers handling the pass rush but not Brady and Peyton. Peyton put up 7 points yesterday, he was under siege all day.

I'm not saying he had a crappy game, but I do think he missed some key opportunities.

Yes, Peyton folds under pressure. But he also gets criticism for being a regular season QB. He can't bring the big one home. He has one SB, yes... but that was arguably against a much weaker Bears team. I recall feeling like that Colts/Bears SB was a mismatch in favor of the Colts. I mean... the Bears had Rex Grossman for crying out loud. :lolol:

Rodgers and Brees deal with pressure... Luck does, as well. Brees isn't necessarily leading his teams to success lately, though. I watch other QBs only intermittently, but I do notice that there are a handful of snaps that many other QBs have to avoid a rush in any given game. Ben arguably does so easier than most. I guess I kind of expect him to excel when he deals with that... it's how he made his name. When the O-Line is letting defenders straight through then no QB can deal with that... they're getting hit immediately.

I don't expect Ben to put up 6 TDs per game. But I'd like to see him get to the point that the team can count on his arm to deliver 3 per game, on average. He has that kind of potential... it simply isn't translating onto the field.

Bell definitely gets a game ball. ben is who we thought he is, sometimes he is amazing and does things no other QB can do. Sometimes he tries to hard and gets sacked of fumbles but I don't want another QB period. The Blonde Bomber was similar with his up and down games, but in the end he was great too.

It is obviously Bell. Then AB. Then Heath. I would give the Titans game ball to Mike Mitchell. He played great for them. LOL.

I'd give it to Ben becuase he realized he was having a bad night and that Bell had the goods and instead of insisting that he had to throw it and he would work out of it, he fed Bell the rock. That was really unselfish and showed some leadership I hadn't seen from Ben in a few seasons.

But then some will come along and say he's just a "game manager". LOL. Brady had a ton of handoffs the other night too.
