If we try to "establish the run" tonight, we will lose.

    We need to come out hot and find ways to score fast. If we don't play with a sense of urgency out of the gate like we did against the Colts, we will flounder and fumble our way to 6-5.

    Yes! Finally...Ive been saying this forever.
    The run keeps teams in the game....The pass makes them look forward to next week

    Yup this isn't a run first pass second team anymore. Our O line is not the big physical line like Dallas or Kansas City. We are finesse. Open up throwing to the middle or deep. Once we get the Defense on the heels mix up with a little Blount down the middle and Bell down the middle. Run uphill, even for only 2-3 yards. Protect the football. Keep throwing aggressive and never look back.

    Conservative= loss
    Aggressive= chance of winning

    We will run ourselves right to a loss if we are not careful.

    IMO The only way we lose is if we go in there full of ourselves, be it our MNF record or the fact that DL's record aginst rookie QB'S

    We lose if we don't score points, and we don't score points if we try to run it.

    I admit that I was surprised about Bells production, and I am glad I am wrong about that. However, we looked like garbage until the last drive in terms of offense, and we were trying to establish the run then. Running is great, but it doesn't score many points. That game could have easily been a Titans win. It wasn't an indicator that our running game will lead our offense to points against good defenses.

    How about just the proper balance? Relying on one without the other will lose you the game.

    Umm, if it wasn't for our running game we probably wouldn't have scored any points at all. Ben played like absolute trash the entire game. Be thankful we had a running game, because without it we would have lost badly.

    Running the ball may not score much but it does two good things : it runs the clock, and it keeps the ball out of the other teams hands.

    To be sure, it wasn't Ben's game, but important completions at key moments to Wheaton, Moore, Brown, and Miller....plus that big 3 yard run for a first down that turned the game.....and being under siege much of the game.....I think absolute trash is a bit of an overstatement. It wasn't a 6 TD performance, but he was there when it mattered.....

    Good point. Yes, this wasn't his best game but he did the right things when he had to and made some key plays. If we can get this every time he has a bad game I'm ok with it. Too often in the past he would have a bad game and that is it, just a bad game, with no follow-up comment about making plays. I'll take it!
