Why does nobody else do it, Jack? Do you really think Mitchell is the only football player that cares about winning? Did you guys never play sports? It's bush, you don't break these unwritten rules. It's not Mitchell caring about winning, its Mitchell being a bonehead, have you not seen that from him yet? Being a bonehead, I mean.

And he didn't knock the ball loose, kind of moot. The QB has a better chance of getting struck by lightening there than Mitchell causing a fumble. I think you guys would be flipping out if the Ravens had done that to us.

I'm kind of surprised you are ok with it since you are always so stringent about not embarrassing the organization and make no mistake, that was embarrassing.

Come on, Blast! Don't be so self-righteous and puritanical. The fact is I HAVE played sports and I always was, and remain, VERY competitive. That's why I understand to a degree why Mitchell did what he did. Was it an act of desperation and, because it failed miserably, made him look just a tad bit foolish? Sure it was. But I completely understand how, in the midst of a hotly contested football game as you watch your shot of victory fade away, that you might just do something to try to help your team snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. Joe Greene grabbed a football and hurled it up in the stands once when the Steelers were getting beaten. It happens. And why is it an unwritten rule anyway? You're behind by one score or less and in your mind if you could just get the ball back one more time you've got a shot. It wasn't like we were behind by 21 points. Just because the offense decides to lay down with their victory formation why should the defense stop doing everything in its power to try to win the football game? Even something as foolish as diving across the line to try to dislodge the quarterback from the ball to try to give his team one last shot! This ain't golf, my friend, where shots and wins are conceded. This is the NFL which stands for Nock Football Loose to try to get the win!!!

Just because all your friends jump off a bridge, does that mean that you have to do it too? Who cares what everyone else is doing?

Why don't you slow your role there, bud, I'm being neither.

You guys can like it all you want, it's not done, its frowned upon and it wont be done again for quite a while.

You can keep ignoring the question all you want but why does no one else do it?. Oh right, they don't want to win.

    lame ass argument

if any of you pay attention to games
there have been plenty of times

players dove for the ball at the time of the snap during a victory for your information

    love the play by MM

    he dove over the top

    so what

    move on

    cry babies

when the germans bombed Puerto Rico wasn't that against an unwritten rule gentlemen's agreement?

when the Japs attacked Hollywood and the ferris wheel rolled down the pier into the specific ocean
    did we give up

    raise the Bismarck
    and remember the Alamo bowl
    David Bowie did.

All this love for Mitchell, hasn't done squat for and he's untouchable, but guys like Ben and Tomlin actually have led us to some SB's and yet they get thrown into a meat grinder :lolol:

If MM knocks that ball out and Ben hits AB, MB or MW for a TD pass and we're tied then win. We're calling foot boy, bush league or splinter footThat's just my 2 cents

    listen here bucko
I don't ever want to eat cornflakes again.

see the difference between the two? look at that smile on donkey.

just because some one doesn't agree with your view of football makes them wrong.

    I state again

I myself have seen PLENTY of times where players have dove for the ball at the snap in the "victory information"

I won't conform to your view of a football play just because you are the loudest one here.:smiley1:

Isn't this the same coach that was penalized last year against the Ravens on the kick return? Now where do the players get their tendency's?Classless is what we have here in the Steel City.

So, apparently, you're NOT in the "Tomlin said that was an accident and I believe him" camp? LOL.
