The Panthers Oline is probably worse than ours. They are really bad

That was some NASTY dline play though. Man I'd like to see us slamming dudes around like that! I still think Foster is worse than that guy though. LOL. Just kidding.

the guy got his leg caught on the qb's leg while engaged. more to it than just the guy getting thrown to the ground.

show some of gilberts many times he's knocked on his arse by one guy and not tripping over another player. there are plenty of those to see. there are plenty of our linemen going to help on a double team that is not needed and a blitzer coming through not noticed or touched. flat out whiffs. walked back into our qb plays. couple lack of awareness with slow and you have a couple of poster children like foster and gilbert.

I think me and you are the biggest Gilbert detractors on here. Any time somebody gets to Ben off the right I'm always thinking it has something to do with Gilbert. This weekend though Foster was getting dominated and it looked like on some plays that he wasn't even much help when he was DOUBLE TEAMING! He looked like he was just punching the defender in the arm! There's not really much that Munchak can do with that in my opinion. Do you think we draft a single linemen this year though?

#66 on the Panthers is Amini Silotolu. He was a pretty well regarded prospect 3 years ago. He looked really bad on that play, but I'm not sure that Foster is a better guard overall. Foster seems to be one of the quiet poster children for our inconsistency. I've seen him look stout, and I've seen him look horrid.

Bringing up Foster was just a way of making this Steelers related so that it wouldn't get moved to the purgatory of General NFL Talk. ;)

    I'm sneaky that way.

does it matter? we usually dump them anyway and keep guys that aren't very good, so drafting another of those wouldn't matter much.

I hope they draft erving from fla.st.. I liked him last year too, but he stayed at school. he looks to be capable with his movements at LT. we need to give munch something to work with right off the bat instead of having to wait 2 or 3 years.

I still like wallaces fire when in the game and he can be a guy that sends some nasty back into our linemen. they could feed off of him I believe. just a little attitude could go a long way.

beachum could then be the backup center, guard and tackle again and hubbard is improving and could turn into a decent backup interior guy. < (some may argue with that but I could see it.)

this would allow adams and gilbert to fight it out for the RT spot. one would have to go after next year. < for this one year could make a difference between these two. stay with me. if I'm not mistaken Woodley will come off the books after next year. having adams as the backup for one more year would keep his pay scale down with a new contract pending. gilbert will be one year into his new contract. we could pay adams easier than gilbert for the same results and maybe better. gilberts remainder could then be spread over two years in 2016-17 if we cut him after 2015.

at least this is what I would like to see happen.

this would give us erving at LT, beachum, Wallace or hubbard at LG, pouncey, DD and gilbert for one more or part of one more and then sign and insert adams to a more backup type salary and then cutting gilbert after june 1 after next season ends. leaves beachum, hubbard or Wallace as the backups with adams and gilbert as one of the tackle backups. that's 8 linemen and hopefully a project guy or two in camp or the PS. maybe the guy we have. vigilante or what ever his name is.:smiley1: I'd replace pocic too on the PS.

wow that was a lot of stuff. kev, do it.

I dont think we will ever draft high enough to secure a top notch LT prospect so I'm ok with Beachum holding down the fort there. I think we need to get the best LG in the draft, though. I hate Foster there. He is a weak spot for sure. Also like Adams at RT but that's just me.

I can somehow hear it already..." Roughing the blocker, number 92 defense...10 yards penalty"

Cam Thomas should get unsportsmanlike penalties on every play, because his ability is so little like a professional sports player.
