Seems like all the more reason to root for the underdog (Browns) in this game. In the end, we need to take care of business, but root for the team above you to lose at home every chance you get....Would like to have that 1/2 game edge on the Bengals going into the 2 games we play against them......still a winner if you split....

Yep, going for the Brownies also. How funny would it be if the division flipped and this year Steelers and Brownies make the playoffs?

I will be rooting for the Browns, because the Bengals don't have any losses in the division yet.

I'm rooting for a tie, duh

If not, then I'm rooting for a Bengals loss. Can't ever bring myself to say I'm rooting for one of the teams in this division to win.

I'll also root for the Browns here. I think Cincinnati is more of a threat. And as mentioned, they have no division losses yet.

As for the standings, can someone explain to me why the Bungles are first? I understand they have less losses, but they also have less wins. Shouldn't wins come first? Doesn't make sense to me.

I don't care who wins between the Bengals and Browns. It should have no effect on the Steelers winning the division and going on to win the SB. With the Steelers having two games with the team that is one half game ahead of them insures the Steelers being in control of their own destiny. If you have that control you can't ask for anything more. They just need to go out and get it done.

They do it by percentages. Their win percentage is just barely higher than ours. The main wrench thrown in there is that we've played one more game since they've had their bye week and we haven't yet.

After stinking it up yesterday the steelers have only 6 games left to make a playoff run, they cant take another team lightly if they want to get in, the Titans on the road this week worries me because they do have a stout front seven on defense and Whisenhunt has a revenge factor to motivate him to get a win: In these last 6 games we have the bengals twice, the saints, chiefs, and a falcon team that can score points, so it's not going to be an easy road to get to 10 wins......

I'll call it now: if we come out vs. Tenn throwing stupid WR bubble screens and trying to establish the run, we will not make the playoffs. This is indicative of a coaching staff that does not want to change their stubborn ways and roll with what has been working. If they don't have Ben sling the ball 80 yds to Brown or Bryant within the first series, I am convinced they don't have a gameplan.

(And 80 yds might be exaggerating a bit... but you get my point)

The Browns play the Texans this week(trap game) for them plus there do for a lose, Bengals play N.Oat N.O, so that should be a loss for them. With a win Mon against Tenn, we should be back in 1st place in our division..... So im not hitting the panic button yet.

According to Sports Insights, we have a 57% chance of making the playoffs. No clue where that number comes from

If you NEED something to root for tonight in the 'indifference bowl,' root for the Panthers to beat the Eagles....we've already beaten the Panthers and in the unlikely event the division comes down to a 2-way tie with the Browns, and we have the same conference and division record (and we both end up 1-1 against the non-common teams), strength of victory comes into play. As it happens, the teams we have beaten so far have 26.5 wins while the Browns are at 18.5. Obviously, (ARRRGGGGGHHHHH! I hate that word) the landscape changes each week, and ultimately the Browns may beat the Panthers thereby negating any difference.....BUT, I'm sort of grasping at straws anyway, so GO PANTHERS!

As an aside, if the Browns beat the Bills and we STILL manage to tie them at the end, strength of victory is negated as we would by definition have a better record against common opponents (assuming division and conference record is also a tie). We'd likely be hosed in a 3-way tie with the Ravens and Browns assuming the Ravens beat the Browns in week 17 as they would have the best head to head vs. Browns and Steelers having swept the Browns.

Man, it's WAY too early to be thinking about this crap.....

Yeah it's actually mentally punishing to even try and figure it out. LOL. I am rooting for the panthers by virtue of the fact that they are playing the eagles.

With the Dolphin win Thursday the Steelers are currently sitting in the 8th spot. Three teams ahead of them( Bungals Clowns Chiefs ) all have a good shot of losing Sunday so If the Steelers can pull out a win Monday night they should be sitting pretty good. So get your head outta your asses and play to your potential and everything will work out.
