Shazier is looking like a bust so far

I'd be more concerned with Shamarko Thomas...his injuries are of the pulled hammy vareity. He just came back....and he's in the tub again.

I said he's looking like one, not that he's there yet. I can admit being wrong about Harrison he has more in the tank than I thought he did. I didn't want Harrison back because of his mediocre play in 2012, 2013 and his age.

I remember reading the same post when we drafted Troy. He was called Bustamala

He'll need practicing the better TEs, but if anyone has the tools to do it, it's him. He's got better straight-line speed than any other LB in the league, and most CBs. And he's not huge for a LB, but he's huge for a DB. Explosive, too. He'll get there. Honestly, I think a good comparison to him is Timmons. He's a faster Lawrence Timmons that is a little less raw and more pro-ready. I think his second season will be like Timmons' third.

The only person I wanted more at the time of the draft was Kyle Fuller, but he wasn't an option. While it might turn out he would have been better, there's nothing we could've done about it.

Either way, calling Shazier a bust is just ridiculous. You think ILB in LeBeau's scheme is easy for anyone, let alone a rookie? He's looked great. Yeah, he's been hurt. Did you see what happened to him, though? That would have hurt anyone. It happens.

Overall I think Shazier is ahead of where the following guys were at this point in their rookie seasons (and some of them at this point in their second seasons): Cam Heyward, Lawrence Timmons, Jason Worilds, Brett Keisel, James Harrison, Jarvis Jones, Antonio Brown, Markus Wheaton... Not bad company.

I think anyone's first year in the league is too soon to be labeled a bust. However, I did not like the pick when we made it because CJ Mosely was my guy. The funny thing is the knock on Mosely was that he was dinged up, now he is a first-year stud (for the hated Ravens no less) and Shazier is the one dinged up all the time. Like I said on draft day, I hope I'm wrong, but I think Mosely would have been the better pick for the Steelers.

I think both will make great players, and Mosely was on my radar. But Shazier has the higher ceiling, no question.

a bust because he had a couple of injuries ? when he played he was better than most of our first round picks in their first years ..
as for of harrison i was sure he was still good , in 2012 he ws injuried in 2013 was out of position but healthy , brought him at old position and bang .....

my concerns are for the next year , worilds cost too much and i don't think we will break the bank , jarvis is not a new harrison i would sign harrison another year move jones on the left sign moats and a draft pick or hojo , let worilds gone . and if the two new cb play like now . cut allen and taylor and sign a high draft pick

Oh he's only "looking like a bust", yeah that's completely different than saying he's a bust.

Harrison: 2012 was coming off an injury. 2013 was playing in a 4-3 defense. Your arguments to not sign Harrison were weak and that's being Proven right now!

It's unbeliveable that people give up so easily on things.

I have a beagle that showed up on my property a couple months back. We called the owner and he said you can keep it, that dog don't hunt.

I noticed the dog won't quit chasing Deer, rabbets or any other species of animal that comes in my yard.

Rashard Mendenhall played in only 4 games and had 58 yards his rookie season and he turned out OK. The Lakers just lost their 7th overall #1 pick for the season to injury. A lot of times, injuries are just plain bad luck.

Wow! It is your opinion for sure, but I can't hate the guy for getting hurt making a play. It's football and it happens. The kid has a ton of potential so give him time. As it's already been said, Shamarko is the one that concerns me at this point.

There is no linebacker that can cover Graham or Gronk. Shazier has potential to be all pro by year 3 with his speed.

If you remember Troy even said to Coach C. that he felt stifled with his hair up he got comfortable and let it down, so Shazier also will get comfortable and play well.
