On the job training is a luxury we can ill afford. It's a tough world out there, that's reality, and we need results not promises. We are @ that stage of a team where we have a shot. Granted, a long shot it may be but it's a shot!

Play the best you have and sit the others. That's it.

I'm not sure the practice environment will or should be the determining factor in this battle. Actual, real life play may be the trump card.

 

Totally disagree . It all starts on the practice field. He can prove himself and if he has the mettle in practice. If he can't then its next man up

 

They were saying that when McCain beat him out a couple of weeks ago it was because Tomlin thought McCain prepared better.

 

I would prefer and feel more comfortable if McCain was on the field or Blake for that matter lol

 

The coaches have obviously seen something in Blake, given that he's stuck around as a ST contributor and they didn't flood the team with DBs in camp for competition.

Maybe completely wrong, I'm wondering if having Blake or McCain out there will have a good effect on the play of our safeties. Allen has been burned when he's lost safety support; maybe when Troy and Mitchell go out there and know they've got a new, young guy out wide, they take less risks on jumping a route and support the CB more. Just thinking aloud, though.

 

No. He supposedly already proved himself on the practice field that's how he had the job in the first place. Players he beat out in a practice situation out performed him in a real live game.

He needs to practice more and if he is able to improve his game and gain some consistency. He will be back on the field. Clearly the coaches see something in him. He just has to get better.
