Just gotta say, Ben doesn`t set records like that, without time to throw...

Yes, He had 1 TD to Brown, when he scrambled to the right,

But, for the most part, it looked like he had ALLL DAY, to survey the field, and pick his pass...

He was sitting in the pocket most of the day, and picking apart their D...

I didn`t think they were that bad on D...

Looked to me, like our O-line did a GREAT job, giving him a pocket to throw from.

Was that just me? or am I missing something?

(Aside from him running on the next to last play in the game... That was just dumb...)

For the most part, I thought our O-Line did an OUTSTANDING job...

    Am I wrong?

    Was it "scheme/playcalling"?

Yes they had a couple holding penalties, but, for most of the day, I was wondering where this has been...:hmmm::shrug:

They got my honorable mention in the Game Ball thread. Man I wish we would rise to this level every week.

We need to rise to somewhere near this level next week against the Ravens or the win this week will lose a lot of its importance.

the colts came into this game with the #3 defense in the league... last wk., they totally dominated the bengals front line, and cincy has a top o-line..
this wk. I'm pretty sure ben was only pressured once... even on the play that he extended to throw that td to ab, ben had a ton of time before rolling out... that was clearly the o-line's best performance in yrs., and displayed the type of dominance I have been looking for.....
mike adams is gonna make the coaches descisions tough when gilbert is ready to come back

They certainly gave Ben time to throw yesterday. I'm not sure if that was due to great blocking, or if the refs were letting offensive linemen get away with murder. There were only 2 holding calls against offensive linemen in the game yesterday ... both against Castonzo of the Colts.

I saw Pouncey everywhere; he was very active on the second level! Very noticeable for an OL, in a good way.

If they can give Ben that amount of time to throw it every week we'd be undefeated.

That's life of the O-Line, no respect, and if you allow a sack or the running back gets nailed in the backfield, it's your fault.

What made the O-Line look better is that Ben was not holding the ball, yesterday. That one aspect of Ben's game made everyone on offense look better.

No. There were times yesterday when Ben had 6 seconds or more to throw the ball...because of protection. I posted this a few days ago:

So far this season, only 5 other quarterbacks (with a large enough playing time sample size) are getting rid of the ball quicker on average.

Eli Manning, Kirk Cousins, Tom Brady, Andy Dalton, and Peyton Manning. On average, Ben takes 2.49 seconds to throw. It's worth noting though that he has far more drop backs than those quarterbacks aside from Tom Brady.

That's what I was gonna say. Ben was standing back there writing his memoirs with the ball in his hand yesterday.

He did play well but Tomlin has said previously that he does not give spots to substitutes when its an injury. Gilbert will be back

What does that mean rukus? You don't agree with the statistics or you agree with the statistics?

Sounds like he doesn't agree that the O-line gave Ben tons of throwing time. But from what I saw yesterday, Ben had all day long to throw the ball and never looked pressured. I haven't seen that in a very long time.

I do agree the O-Line played better. My point is that Ben actually elevated his play at a rate greater than any other portion of the offense. I've posted this elsewhere... In the Texans game I watched Ben with enough time to make a 3-or-5 step drop... move back up into the pocket and still hold the ball. If the O-Line wasn't blocking, then he wouldn't have that time. Yesterday, I witnessed Ben frequently throw after making his drop back or immediately upon moving up in the pocket. Also, his throws were extremely accurate.

My point is that most of the props go to Ben. The O-Line has been steadily improving all season. I've been giving them their props. Yes, yesterday there were times Ben was given time to read War and Peace... there were also times he had to scramble. Brown's 47 yard TD was one of them. Ben was hitting receivers both in stride and in space with precision. When was the last time we saw that much YAC (especially leading to TDs)?

Ben was unconscious, yesterday. And he made everybody else both look and be better.

I thought the o-line did a great job. I can't remember Ben having that much time to throw. Hopefully it continues.

Not diagreeing but I would also add another element to the game. Bens improved throwing and accuracy could be a result of an injured throwing hand on the mend
