The first concern is after watching that game it was really evident that we need a LT. Beachum continually got beat all night. We have need a LT for a long time, We must get this done this year in the draft or by free agency.

The second concern, was no pass rush and we almost let a mediocre QB beat us because we couldn't get pressure on him.

Here's the good news, our DBs did a pretty good job last night. Our safeties are starting to play well together. I do think our CBs could do better, but a good pass rush is critical for their success. I think when we get Shazier and Jones back we will get the needed speed and ability to rush the passer.

For a LT I'd like to see us go through free agency to get one, too many whiffs on draft day at tackle for us. As far as pressure goes it seemed to me like we were getting to Fitzpatrick but he just did a good job of stepping up in the pocket to avoid it. It's like the pass rush is just a tad bit late getting to the QB.

Steelers can't afford to pay what a FA LT would demand and we never draft high enough to grab the sure fire picks. Thats why its been so hard to find one.

I actually don't mind Beachum. He struggled last night but, overall, hasn't been horrible.

I was satisfied to see some hunger in this defense for a change. But let's not kid ourselves - a good QB would have shredded our D with the amount of time he was allowed in the pocket. The pass rush just seemed sooooo slow getting there.

Why is it everybody thinks the QBs we play against are terrible all the time? While not a top notch QB, he certainly has been good enough to be a starter fro many years on several different teams.

Also, Ben should be shredding other teams frequently, as most think he is a top notch QB, and often he has as much time as the opponents - but people don't seem to notice that.

LT's are hard to find. Teams keep good ones. Mediocre ones go to FA and are overpaid. Beachum is not bad or over paid. He just isn't good. Draft is the way to go. Unfortunately, we always win just enough games to not draft high enough.

I agree here. The front 7 are getting into the backfield. And it often appears they are inches from a grab. I think they are going to start figuring out how to close that gap. Against Luck, they better figure it out! :lolol:

It's hard to fine a LT these days. Either you grow them yourself or you pay an outrageous amount for them.

But we only have two olineman that would probably start on any other team. I'm not sold on the other three. Beachum, Foster and Gilbert are less than average in my eyes but that's all we have and must roll with them.
