I don't see anything matching that on his Twitter...so I dont know.

And maybe as far as calling the plays maybe he was referring to the no huddle/etc time when Ben usually does call them.

 

It might have more teeth if Hines was still on the team but his criticism of Ben does nothing but instigate hypothetical imaginary tensions within the organization.

Why? He played with Ben for a lot of years if anyone has insight to what goes on in the locker room it's Hines.

 

Exactly. He knows Ben inside and out. Hines Ward earned the right to speak out when he sees something he doesn't like. Just because you don't agree with it doesn't make it wrong. With that said, Ben clearly isn't calling every play, so not sure what Hines was talking about

I don't know who calls the plays when or during what situations but this we should know. Ben calls the plays during the no-huddle. Mike Tomlin has admitted to calling a play this year. Haley as OC I'm quite sure has called plays, or at the very least suggested plays via the helmet and quite possibly Ben has the approval or right to change it in the huddle and most definetly at the LOS.

Thing is this, Its Haleys job to develop an offensive system of plays for every possible scenario and its his job to oversee its implication. He must be on the same page as Ben. Ben MUST know them all and when/where to use them. Ben MUST listen to his coach if he ( Haley ) strongly suggest a play during the game. I believe Ben calls his plays with the suggestions from Haley via the helmet mainly due the fact Ben is a seasoned Vet with Playoff/SB success and has earned that right, and if he hasn't been given that right we would already know that thru his........complaints/actions of displeasure so to speak.

I also fine it interesting he's letting for the most part for Haley to take the brunt of the blame ( he does say he holds himself to a higher standard of playing ) including calls for Haleys firing. Maybe its because he's due a huge pay increase if the offensive woes aren't his fault this offseason.

I know it's his job and all, but I wish you have a little more respect for Steeler nation and not cause drama.

 

Was listening to 93.7 the fan earlier and they had a quote from Haley saying that he calls 75% of the plays and Ben calls the other 25%. I think this is nothing but Hines calling attention to himself to make him relevant in his life after football.

You might be right, not sure. I don't know how to decipher that twitter nonsense either
