I have adopted a policy of not paying attention to anything said by any Steeler. All I am going to read is positive crap about enough talent, we have to do better, blah, blah, blah. Until I can be a fly on the wall in coaches meetings or practices, I don't expect to read anything at all helpful or accurate.

I want to SEE change, not hear about what might be different.

mmmmmmkay but you're a bit vague on what you want to SEE change.
    Bench Players?
    Fire Coaches?
    Can the GM?
    Lower concession stand prices?

    Throw us a bone here.

I listen to a lot of sports talk radio, but in recent years I've made a point to tune out or turn off player interviews.

Because, if a players is smart, he says nothing to the media - so he's not worth listening to
If a play is stupid, he says stupid things to the media - so he not worth listening to

Ergo, player interviews are not worth listening to.

this applies to any team in any sport.

I get mad when I hear radio guys talking about the Steelers because I don't really like to hear someone that's not a fan dogging on our team. I know that might sound weird but it's sorta the same principle for me as talking about family. I can say what I want to about my family member but YOU had better not. I don't really mind when fellow fans really let the team have it but to hear some "outsider" talking about our team just really ticks me off. However, I also get mad when they try and put a positive spin on it too so go figure. LOL.

Well the only time I want to punch people in the face is for being optimistic when we look so horrible. LOL! I kid you not, I am such a pessimist (realist?) by nature that ANY optimism just annoys me. My wife is much more optimistic than me and gets so aggravated at how I just never seem to be able to find the silver lining. I just always tell her that I'm really more of a realist than a pessimist. Man you should have seen me at the airport on our way to vacation the other day. I was going CRAZY standing in that stupid line and just KNOWING that we weren't gonna make it in time. She was getting so irritated just WATCHING me and I really wasn't even hardly talking! LOL! She knew though the more that she told me that we were doing fine on time the more I would just get madder. It's sorta the same way for me when I see people talking about how we are "close" to being a contender again. It just drives me crazy because I always am really near sighted. That's a pretty poor quality actually.

Simple, really. More scoring by us, less scoring by them.
    Fewer boneheaded plays and penalties.
A team with an identity that is successful. Don't really care if it is a smashmouth style or a finesse style - just something that works consistently.
Use the talent we have effectively, even if the talent we have is not pro bowl caliber

I believe it can be done. Not sure if it will be done.

Yes my friend, realist...I'm right there with you and I don't care what anyone says! Being a realist, more than anything, leads to my blood pressure being probably 90% lower than anyone on else this board

Yeah I mean when I was watching the clowns game after I got home last night I was just sorta numb and kept telling myself that I figured that was gonna happen anyway. I really didn't even get that mad watching the game. The main thing that annoyed me was the stupid Beachum penalty and the fact that Ben kept going to Wheaton when it is painfully obvious that they are just not on the same page and lack chemistry. I'm not really sure why but it just seems to be that way.

Ahh, sports radio. I detest the caller segments!

Announcer: Let's go to Mike. Mike are you there?

    Caller: Yeah, this is Mike

Announcer: Go on with your question.

Caller: Yeah, so, you guys talked about, about you know, Ummm, Tooomlin failure to ahhh, on the sideline to make adjustments to the play calling you know? And I just want ta know when
is it gowanna change you know? Cause I'm sick of his comments to the media

Announcer: Ok, going to stop you right there. Charlie you want to respond to that?

    Charlie: .......

    Announcer: Next caller.

This is so me. My family and I had to watch the game at an establishment. I did get mad at the way our Steelers were playing. I was talking much smack to my family out of anger...fine, nothing too new for me lately. A guy at the table across from us started talking smack about my Steelers and cheered when the other team scored. I'm not kidding when I tell you my wife had to hold me down to make sure I didn't go smack the guy. You just don't talk sh** about my team (but I can)!

    Lol.

It reminds me of how I was once talking to someone on a train, and he was going on and on about how awful the town he lived in was. No jobs, nothing to do, no future, etc. etc. And I said "yeah, I've heard it's a bit of a dive." And he instantly straightened up, all bristling, and said: "Don't slag off my town."

That's surprising cause when I thnk of a realist as it's been defined on this message board I think of a whiner, complainer, someone who's never happy with anything good the Steelers do.
One thing you can be sure of is that these so-called realist make everybody else's blood pressure boil though!

Peronsally BFT I don't see the issues you talk about. We are good. Nothing is wrong and I am hugely optimistic and confident in this team and the staff

You nailed exactly what I heard yesterday to a T. Granted it wasn't sports, It was just some dumb paranoid lady talking about Ebola.

Fact is. I have an hr+ plus drive to a from work daily and I can't stand the bubble gum crappy FM radio so I listen to AM while I'm driving. Be it Politics, Sports, Local news ect....

Anyways, This lady was rambling on about Ebola, you know, Border control, you know, my child, you know, Hospital preparedness, you know. People driving next to me probably thought that old man is crazy screaming at himself telling somebody to STFU cause no I don't know what she is talking about. LOL.

Ok, now I am really confused. What falls into the category of "crap" to you guys? Anything negative? Because I have not seen one person on here since the Browns game not have a complaint about this team. Obviously, some are more unhappy than other (including me) but after the way this team has performed, I'm pretty sure it is justified.

I really think the problem is that a lot of us suffer from is that things written in text come off way worse than their intended.
Edit: There are a couple guys that post in the game day threads, pretty much only when we're struggling are losing that I'm quite sure are trolls. At the very least there just agitating people and they know exactly what they're doing. When you can look back (and this is not an exaggeration )95% of their posts are negative there's a problem.

Just say you better have tough skin if you want to play the game.
