Mike Pettine, Offensive Genius or something Hinky?

Ok besides the huge stinker that the team laid today I have to ask myself is Mike Pettine an offensive genius or is something going on that just isn't perfectly legal? Not since watching Sean Peyton trot out 15 different formations on the first two series against the Ravens have I witnessed such a 180 from a team not once but twice now. Some one explain how you go from negative yardage in a quarter to exploding for 21 points, or how do you go in at half time down 27-3 and come out with the no huddle and roar back into a game where you were completely ineffectual. Lots of blame can be put on the Steelers for letting certain things happen but the Browns have made these adjustments all year not just against the Steelers so is this guy magic? or is there some hinky stuff going on. How do play so badly in once instance and look so dominating in another. Can we really chalk this up to halftime adjustments? is so can we steal his staff? Because come on man this is hard to believe, heck if it was Hollywood this movie would never be made cause it defies belief.

I didn't say they were setting the world on fire. I said they made some downright amazing in game adjustments. Not once but twice and they have been doing similar adjustments in all their games. Almost magical.

 

You suggested that there might be something "hinky" going on. Hinky doesn't get you to 3-2. Hinky gets you Super Bowl trophies and the commissioner destroying the evidence.

 

Reminds me of how the Saints got real good after the hurricane hit New Orleans.........LOL!

I'm not big on conspiracy theories and in this case a lot of people would have had to be in on it but to this day I still think something hinky went on there. Just too perfect of a scenario. The country is suffering from a terrorist attack they need something to inspire them, to make them believe in America again and the Patriots just happen to represent the AFC in the Superbowl four months after 9/11. Now that is a Hollywood script there.

 

My guess is, that he makes adjustments and his team with injuries, suspensions, and less talent seem to want to play their asses off for him. Just my guess, but that's the usual gist of teams playing as a team and doing special things.

Yeah but Goodell wasn't the MLB commish. LOL! But really I don't think that Pettine is a genius but I DO think he can get the team to adjust. I mean when they came out against us in the 3rd quarter of week 1 they looked like a different team and they have done that all year. Last week a supervisor at work was complaining about how the Bears never make adjustments and I said that I thought the clowns were really impressive in their ability to adjust. They have pretty much been in every game they've played this year and have lost some heartbreakers. They could easily have a better record than they do. I don't think they are contenders or anything but they are definitely not pushovers like they have been in the past. The team seems to have some swagger and I attribute that to Pettine. However, they don't play complete games and I also contribute that to Pettine as well.

 

At least with Cleveland the Standard is the Standard and when one man goes down they continually fill the void and maintain their level of play. In the Burgh it's all about platitudes.

 

Well if they did work out some sort of "hinkyness" it should have been Steelers and Cowboys in that SB. Those 2 days take you back to the glory years of many things.

The Pittsburgh revitalization that was in part to the Steelers, not only strengthened the local economy but the nation as a whole.

The rest of world sees America as Cowboys... not Patriots. The example of a patriot anymore is a "tear or is t"

 

Course all of that could just come from my disdain of the patsies anyways!
