Does anyone think that Tomlin is soon to be gone? I just don't know that I believe in this guy anymore. He can be intense and holds great press conferences, but I just don't know if he has the players belief anymore either of the Steelers way!

Ive always been a Tomlin supporter, but i am just about done. Something needs to happen at halftime or they need to hold someone accountable. Toouch talent on this offense to play this way.

I think so. It's not like the old days. Heinz Field is going to be a sea of empty yellow seats.

This is the weakest team they've had since '96. Rooney won't pull the trigger but it is pretty obvious that Tomlin doesn't inspire the team to perform to let alone outperform their talent. They have been perennial underachievers and that is all on the head coach. Disappointing for Steeler nation to endure his mediocrity. For those who hoped he had the right stuff, it appears he could coach Cowher's team but cannot build his own. End of an era.

As far as I am concerned, hand Tomlin and his entire coaching staff an apple and bus ticket out of town.

I don't know, I just don't like the talent on this team right now. Troy looks like he is done, our 2 first round picks last 2 years aren't playing, and haven't been factors. We have 2 ancient guys in Keisel and silverback.

after a few games like this, Cohwer would go back and asses and make lineup changes and turn the team around. I'd be worried if Tomlin does nothing.

I have to agree with you. Cowher had the knock early that he coached a Chuck Noll built team to SB 30, but couldn't win the big one. Although, he did keep us in the hunt year in and year out. Cowher finally won the big one before stepping down. Tomlin won SB 43 with a Cowher built team. Took us back again with some of his own team. Now it is is mostly all his team and he cannot get it done.

Not just that, but we're continuing to get worse every year. We had a lot of talent on this team, but we're somehow worse than we were last year.

Probably a good thing I don't own this team.

I'd be in the locker room at halftime. Fire both Tomlin and LeBeau. Put Munch in charge, promote Lake.

And then stare each man on the team - player, coach, trainers - anyone in the eyes and tell them they're next.

What I don't get is all the high praise MT gets from the national media. It is time to impeach.

To be fair, that 2010 team lucked its way into that Super Bowl. Cowher never had 9-7 wild cards upsetting top seeds to pave the path to the Super Bowl for him.

Yep, I don't think we were all that good in 2010. We got very luck to have a SB appearance given to us and if not for GB receivers dropping everything, they would have smashed us. We have been getting worse as a team for a long time now and we're once again worse than the previous year. I can't wait to see what next year brings

Hate to say I told you so. They won't fire him,
That would be admitting they made a mistake. Face it people, MT inherited a loaded team,
most competent coaches could win with that talent. When they needed replaced and coached up you have seen what happens.MT must go

This team has been a steady decline under Tomlin and now we are in the basement....yes it's time for Tomlin to go.

Actually, that's exactly what happened in 1995 when a 9-7 colts team knocked off Kansas City. Two years later Denver knocked off the top ranked Chiefs but that didn't turn out to be such a good thing for the Steelers.

Quite. The cards land as they fall.

I don't really see much point in the retrospectives on "whose team" it was, and how lucky they were or weren't (after all, weren't we mounting a comeback against GB before the Mendenhall fumble?). I'm more concerned about why this team sucks now, and a) what can be done before next week to improve, and b) what the longer term solutions are.

I'll continue to support Tomlin till the end of the season, but if we don't make the playoffs that will be the end of my support until he starts winning again.
That's pretty much all i'm going to say about it.

I said a long time ago, I don't see the value added with him. If he was replaced with a muppet, I'm not sure anyone would notice if the team didn't put out a press release.

Tomlin has been the wrong coach for this team. He comes a from a 4-3 Tampa 2 defense that all played a version of the west cost offense. He is coaching a team that plays a 3-4 zone blitz defense and runs a Erhardt-Perkins offense. He can't evaluate the talent because he has no experience with the systems. Cower knew the systems and knew the players to get on the team and demanded the GM draft these players. Tomlin is giving his vision to the GM for players that don't fit our systems.
