Archer got his share of touches Sunday and really didn't do much with them

And I disagree with your comments about Justin Brown. He had his best game Sunday and made some tough catches. He also does a nice job blocking and doesn't lose focus like another receiver that used to roam Heinz Field. JB is progressing and has nice size so let's not give up on him just yet.

I still don't get why archer isn't fielding punts. Any of us could receive kickoffs. Stand 5 yards in the endzone, watch the ball sail over your head, jog to the sidelines. Shouldn't they have a burner package on offense? 4 fastest guys on the team flying down the field?

Agreed. I don't get the dislike for JB, he played his 5th professional game of his career Sunday, I think he's doing fine and had a good game yesterday. He'll continue to get better. Next year when Bryant gets more involved, we'll have 2 nice size targets for Ben.

    :this!:
He only got in 2 or 3 plays yesterday. First caught a short swing pass and got 2 yards for a first down. Second time he was in the backfield and Ben handed it off to the fullback which he didn't get the one yard for a first down. I would like to see home get into the flow of the game more and see some plays designed to get him in the open field.

Of his 5 kickoff he's run out of the endzone only 1 has made it past the 20 yard line.

If he doesn't start showing something, he might lose that job as well.

Maybe we should just deactivate him and have Bryant on the active list to run some plays in the red zone.

The Browns. I don't think he's been active in the regular season, and played the way you'd expect a small school, mid-round CB would during preseason.

The only CB I have seen and heard doing well is Fuller. There was no game changing CB left in the 3rd that would have made any impact this season.

Fuller was tied for the league lead in INTs at kickoff on Sunday. He may still be. He is gonna be a great player. I wish we had him. I really might even have rather had him than Shazier. I like Shazier but a good corner would have been awesome to have. But you know me.

I would have been happy with either, think both will be big contributors. I thought Fuller was going to be a Steeler, I was a little surprised the Bears took him. IIRC, they had other needs there.

Archer was a waste of a pick. Colbert doesn't know how to draft. He hasn't hit on anything lately.

Yeah they're kinda in the same boat as us. They are an aging d as well and they let Julis Peppers go and Urlacher is gone and Briggs is getting old and Tillman is as well. He probably will never see another snap. One of my supervisors is a die hard Bears fan and yesterday he came to me and said "We are horrible! We can't make adjustments! We can't play defense! We can't form a gameplan that works! We are just HORRIBLE!" I said "you sound like a Steelers fan to me!" LOL!

Complain about "trolls", then behave like one? Makes perfect sense.

Colbert when interviewed said they still would have taken Shazier even if Fuller would have been there.

We'll never know but have to take that with a grain of salt, can't really see him coming out and saying Fuller was our guy now that Shazier is with the team.

I was thinking the same thing!

On Archer - it's early days, but they seem to be doing the same thing they did with Rainey. It's rare that he's on the field if he's not going to be targeted. And he's too small to shrug off blocks if they know he's getting the ball. I'd like to see him used as a 3rd down back more - though I presume his blocking isn't great at this point.

The thing I hated about the pick was his size. A stiff breeze is going to take the guy down. I am not against someone like him in the later rounds, but why the 3rd round? As others on this board pointed out usually the small elusive guys that are successful in this league have some brawn w/it - like Sproles or Bernard. Now at some point this year he is probably going to have a big play or two, but that doesn't validate the pick as someone drafted that high where you should be getting a big play of 20+ yards about once a game from him. So many other needs that could have been considered with that pick like a TE who can catch and block and could possibly be a future replacement for Heath.
