A very unimpressive win today

I continue to scratch my head about this "personal" complaint when I see people say worse things almost daily on here it seems...

 

Ya know, that's another thing I'm sick and tired of hearing. I just hear it so often that it gets tiresome after a while lol

 

I agree with the OP in general although I do want to add one thing..Jacksonville is 2nd in the league in sacks so they do have a dominate front and that often overlooked how bad in other area's they are. Our O-line I think are overmatched vs top tier Dlines like the Jags.

I agree with the sentiment in this thread.. It's not really about wins or losses as it is when I watch them week in and week it seems to me like a lot of our players just want to get through their "8 hour shift" -their hearts not really in it.. Mendenhall is a prime example of that (if you look at him today he's writing books and sitcoms- it just turned out football wasn't in his heart and even he said it). If this is the case we need to start changing our draft strategy and look for players who love playing and "want" to play

 

That's a good way to look at it and deal with it. Everyone is entitled to their opinion whether it's the same old song every week or not. Sometimes the product doesn't improve and the gripes are still valid. I'm pretty pissed some of my snide negative comments didn't make the original list. While I agree a win is a win ,there won't be too many more if this team doesn't start to be more consistent and improve.

 

LOL! I can't help it if you don't know the difference between literal speech and hyperbole. Maybe I should have used green font. I was trying to use hyperbole (extreme exaggeration) to make the point that it seems like it's been a long dang time since we've returned an INT for a TD. You stay awake in English class, Glenn?

 

Actually, Yes, I did see that, and thought,
"What a cool way to watch the game!!!"...
Aside from that...
Yes, I try to be the eternal optimist, and I can make "excuses"(which are really "truths"), about the parity in the league, and the fact that "blowouts" rarely happen,
and the fact that a team who blows out another team, can get blown out the next week...
Blah blah Blah...
The bottom line is, the Clowns have won or lost every game this year(until yesterday), by a field goal in the last six seconds of the game...
Unfortunately, I didn`t see anything out of our boys yesterday, to suggest that it won`t be a nail biter. like that, yet again!!!
Yes, a "win is a win"(even moreso, if it`s in the division), and Tomlin can say he don`t care about "style points", all he wants.
The fact is, we STILL had stupid penalties, struggled to score in the redzone, struggled to get to the qb...
ALL recurring themes.
I can find positives, also, but the same crap, kinda outweighed them, IMHO...
I`ve learned to expect us to play "down" to our competetion, and that should NOT be acceptable!!!
Good teams don`t struggle to score points against the teams that have given up more points than any other team in the league!!!
I`m hopin we come out and show what we are capable of, against the Clowns this Sunday, that our players have somethin to prove, after almost giving away the first game to them...
But realistically, they haven`t given me anything but blind faith, to pin my hopes on...
The way I see it, we have played 2 good halves of football this year.
The first half against Cleve., and the second half against Carolina.
Other than that, It`s been "below the line".
I`m thankful we are 3-2, but I would rather have more confidence, heading into Cleve, than I do, right now!
C`mon boys! Get yer **** together, and show me what you got this week!
