I know the CBA limits practice, but does it also limit study time? Film time? Like knowing the rules? Like having the coaches teach people how to play with some maturity and character? Yogi Berra said 90% of the game is half mental, and I think THAT is where our problem lies, from the coaching staff on down to the practice squad. It ain't physical talent - they are football stupid. This is probably why Lebeau's defense isn't working - they're not bright enough to learn it. I think we had talented AND bright players for a while, but the brightness seems to have dimmed.

Maybe only a week isn't long enough for this team to mentally prepare. An entire off season to prepare for Cleveland, and 9 days for Carolina, and we win. 4 days for Baltimore and a week for Tampa Bay, and we lose. That does not bode well for the rest of the season.

I like this vision angle. Look at what happened in Philadelphia with the Eagles. A clear vision and style of play - seems to be a good idea. Not sure what our team's "Identity" is, and that should be designed and developed by the coach. If he has one, it is not obvious on the field, at least in a good way.

Happy Birthday, and welcome. This is a great place to hang out on Game Day, Game Week, and even in the off season.

The fix was in, can we trade our coach/s GM ART II?If this wasn't enough reason, it's time to move on.Please Rooney's return the Steelers
to the ones we remember and want to root for.
I am done arguing, we are the laughing stock of the NFL.

Just my 2 cents. Someone said one time that when you score a touchdown act like you been there before. In other words don't act like a moronic hick. For as good as A. Brown is he is an ass. His acting after a score and his first down gesture after catching a pass for a first down are getting old (Bell does it to now). These guys need to get some class and quit acting like hicks. If Brown would of caught that Fleaflick pass from Ben that went through his hands that might of sealed the game. He does make mistakes. When you make mistakes you're not perfect. Shut the F up and do what you get paid good money to do...your job.
Six 15 yard penalties is an abomination. I blame this on Tomlin. There is only one way to get through to these players and that is through their wallet. Fine them 50K if you have to for necessary penalties. To lose to a team like Tampa bay at home is an embarrassment that should not be tolerated. My rant is over....for now.

Welcome and Happy birthday. This loss falls directly on TTF's shoulders. He needs to step up his game and get control and restore order tothis message board or the season may be lost.

You must don't remember 1998-2000 there were plenty of fans who wanted Cowher fired, 3 straight years of no playoffs. If the Colts catch that hail mary in the 1995 AFC championship game, the great Bill Cowher would've been 0-5 at home in the AFC championship games at home.

Oh, that reminds me. It looks like there were a lot of low snaps yesterday and Ben was having to stoop down for them. Anyone else notice that?

This also annoys me. Getting that penalty was straight-up STUPIDITY and we do those kinds of things far too often (DeCastro- I'm looking in your general direction too). You just can't act like you're boss when you have one good play out of a dozen bad ones. It's idiotic and embarrassing.

Yes. I said it in the GD thread. I'd have to think he was short-arming it in a way due to pressure. I'll have to rewatch that abomination to try to get a better idea of what the problem was.

don't even talk like that BFT. I would shoot someone if that whinny azz spurrier is ever considered to coach this team. SC should get rid of him too. he should go to the farthest reaches of the Canadian league and maybe that whinny face would freeze like that. he's one of those guys I'd just like to punch in the face because of his looks. like the whinny looking brothers that coach SF and Balt. I'm pretty sure he's the 3rd brother. sorry I got a little carried away there. have a nice day though. did I mention I didn't want him as our coach? :smiley1: :lolol:

lol...you obviously didn't watch SC football before 2005. Lou Holtz started to put us on the map with back-to-back Outback Bowl victories vs. Ohio State, but Spurrier took us to the next level. We've had top recruits in the country committing to play for us. That didn't happen before he came to USC.

It's alright though, I didn't like Spurrier either until he was our coach. He's the coach you love to hate, until he's your coach!

I know the Defense is just atrocious and our OL suuucked, and Tomlin really has no idea how to manage the clock. But, if Mastermind Haley let Ben get a first down, we win the game. But of course, this idiot calls for a predictable draw up the middle with Bell. We should've been more aggressive and gotten a first down against an 0-3 team at home. Haley is just awful.

Hes a horrible NFL coach, after Mac shoots somebody, I'd stab them for good measure if the Steelers ever hired him. You think Tomlin is bad, we'd win maybe 2 games with Spurrier.

yea I did, but what has he really won you guys? everybody beats OSU in bowl games. you guys should own the SEC with some of the past teams. you won't with spurrier. Ohio State used to have a guy that was a 10+ game winner every year but couldn't get them over the hump. earl bruce. he got unemployed. so. nope SC, I don't want him here and hate that you guys have to have him.

Anyone that knows me, knows I am no Haley fan but in his defense, the idiots did just get, yet another penalty that tipped their hand when Ben rolled out. So, the plan was to pass it, until the players screwed up again. After that, I think maybe they felt Bucs would be looking pass or more likely, just playing it safe at that point. I would have passed again. I'm sure they didn't feel that Wing would only boot it 20 yards or whatever that ridiculous punt was.

Mac, I love having Spurrier in Columbia and in no way would I want him in Pittsburgh (for the record, I have never once insinuated that I want him in Pittsburgh). You're absolutely correct, he is not an NFL type of coach. But in his defense, he had absolutely no say in anything working for that buffoon Dan Snyder. He was basically lied to when it came to how much control/say he'd have in decisions. He resigned from the Redskins because of this...

Thanks for your sympathy, but it isn't necessary...haha

    No thanks on Spurrier.

Up above I mentioned that people hate Spurrier until he's your coach. I meant that in college...I in no way meant it as a way of saying that I'd like him to coach in Pittsburgh.
