Here's the problem Blast. We've replaced DB's, we've replaced LB'ers, we've replaced everyone on the DL. We have drafted and signed plenty of new defensive players that were expected to make a difference. Every single guy we sign or draft on the defensive side of the ball fails to live up to expectations. So what's the point of complaining about our CB's when there's clearly a bigger problem somewhere? What's the point of saying we need to draft another OLB when anyone we put in that spot will not get to the QB? What's the point in wanting a new DE when he's not going to help our LB's get to the QB? We have a huge problem at a level that is beyond our players. I don't believe it's a lack of talent, I believe it's something bigger. That something bigger is coaching. No sense in complaining about something that can't be fixed under our current regime. I no longer blame the players on defence because there's no point. It doesn't matter who we bring in on defence. We could take the top 5 defensive players in the draft next year and they would all suck on our team. Something else is going on and new players won't fix it.

I'm about as upset at this loss as any I can remember in a long, long time (maybe the Tebow playoff game).

This game reeks so much of Tomlin's issues as a head coach. I'm so despondent after 7 years on the job that games like this still happen under Tomlin, that I am almost resigned to just really question why I bother watching this team play football on Sundays anymore.

They are the stupidest, most selfish, cockiest, undisciplined group of Steelers I've seen in my lifetime. The 1980's we had a talent issues, but under Noll we were never as stupid playing the game as we are now. Under Cowher, we might have had terrible special teams. We might have had some criminals buried in our midst (back when that was okay). We might have played so conservative it made your eyes bleed, but we never played STUPID.

Tomlin's teams play stupid. Every win is a just when the talent (and there is talent and has been under Tomlin's reign) overcomes their stupidity. It starts with Colbert (not smart), goes down to Tomlin (not smart) and down to the players (Roethlisberger, Timmons, Brown, Taylor, Gilbert, Pouncey et. al.). The team is STUPID and plays STUPID. 7 Personal Foul penalties? Really? In one game? That's a joke.

I can watch bad talent. I can watch physical mistakes. I can live with heartbreaking losses when the other team executes and we don't. But stupid football? I can't watch stupid football. I can't do it anymore. Stupid football drives me so bonkers I can't be around my family.

I'm so close to giving up on this. They are freaking numskulls. Every guy dressed in Black and Gold today was stupid. Every. Last. One.

Tomlin is stupid. His I.Q. literally might be 90. I'm convinced now and no one will ever convince me otherwise. He is a slick talking oil salesman that hoots and hollers like a gorilla and thinks that's motivation and good coaching.

I'm done with him now forever.

Fire him. I'm done. The whole freaking front office and coaching staff need to go. Period.

    And I will add this.

I am NOT changing my opinion. People that know me know that. I have never once said FIRE TOMLIN. I only said FIRE COLBERT this past off-season.

    Now I've said it.

The whole bunch needs to go. And my opinion of that is NEVER GOING TO CHANGE even if this team wins the next 16 games in a row. The leadership in this organization right now is terrible. TERRIBLE.

I literally can not wait until the end of this inevitable 8-8 or 9-7 season and can start calling for this groups head for real.

I agree and it's like they say it's better to get rid of a player a year too early than a year too late. The same should be applied to the coaches. We are running out of time changes need to be made sooner than later.

Got this stat from Smizik's blog:

In their past 15 games against teams with losing records the Steelers are 6-9.

Don't get so butt-hurt that I was proven right on both of the references you quoted. The jock sniffers arrived and are ready to burn us at the stake!

I understand why you get tired of the anti-Tomlin comments when people like Gamecock made idiotic posts like he did. There's no need for that garbage. I can't wrap my mind around your support of Tomlin, I really can't, but I'm not going to sit here and call everyone names just because they support Tomlin

If you say so but was referring mostly to that. The rules are readily available if you need to refresh yourself with them.

oh....I wonder what we would be reading had Antonio Brown caught that bomb for a TD and put this game away.

Ok...going back to my corner of quietness now.

What was that weird penalty on pouncey? Something about an illegal snap?

I don't disagree, but for what it is worth you can say that about most things in life. In a rocky relationship? You have a good day and think, hey maybe this can work. Then you have a bad fight the next day and you're wondering why you're still together. Just because you had a good day together doesn't mean you don't have problems.

Somehow, I think we still find a way to snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory.

Let's make no mistake. The team that beat us was HORRIBLE. Their QB - was it his first start ever? He looked lost and scared the entire game. And we couldn't capitalize on that. We should have utterly destroyed them. Instead we kept them hanging around long enough to beat us.

I saw a stat. I forget if it's just the last 3 years, or 2, or all-time under Tomlin. But we are (in whatever time frame) 6-9 against teams with losing records. That's pathetic by any measure. And I'm sure most of those 6 wins were nail biters.

Had we won today, I'd still be pissed.
