  1. We are watching the slow demise of Steelers football under the Tomlin/Colbert team.

Tomlin to his credit, much like Barry Switzer, didn't screw it up when he inherited a championship roster with a franchise QB on the roster. Since then, the decline has been slow and steady under the current regime.

Tomlin gets a pass and is almost above criticism because of his skin color, which in the current obama pc atmosphere is understandable but not acceptable. Colbert's track record is rapidly speaking for itself.

Franchise Qb's come along every so often and the window for #7 is almost closed, like it or not.

Tomlin and Colbert need to go.

Great post but unfortunately this will get deleted. Unfortunately you mentioned something this board isn't willing to talk about.

  7. It's sad but predictable to see this type of response from some younger posters who don't understand the context of my original post.

Nope. Posts don't get deleted, but the thread will get locked if it doesn't adhere to the forum guidelines.
Umm, pretty sure he's not a youngster. Your original post is against board rules. Save the race and political debating for...well...anywhere else really.

  11. Immature would have been a better description of the poster, my bad. It's fascinating that you would prohibit discussion about race considering, (1) the rooney rule (2) Tomlin is the first black head coach of the Steelers ( see # 1) (3) discussing steelers football on your board, lets encourage new users like me.

Political debates, racial debates, religious debates. The rules are pretty straight forward and they aren't up for debate.

I don't think it's a race thing, I think it's an accountability thing. Nobody holds anybody accountable anymore. Look at all the missteps of our government (not saying a specific party, just in general) and nobody has been held accountable, look at this ray Rice crap! Everyone had a pretty good idea what happened but there was no outcry till the video went public. Goodell has told bold faced lie after lie and yet he may still keep his job because the owners care more about their profit than holding him accountable. This team has failed year after year, does Tomlin hold his players accountable? What about the Rooneys with Tomlin? Repurcussions for ineptitude just don't measure up.

I was with you until you mentioned the race thing. That's not why Tomlin gets a pass. Lots of black coaches have been fired over the years.

The Rooney Rule is a good idea in my eyes the same way affirmative action is for any race or gender which is being oppressed. There would be no reason for society to initiate such a rule if we lived in a democratic society that allowed equal opportunity..

That's as much as I will say about that.

Now can we move on to discuss the efficacy of our coaching staff?

Tomlin Bites! Obama bites far worse!
It's not a racist perspective but just facts.
Both just eased into their positions.
I really like Tomlin better than the other.

  21. TTF I think your guidelines are rigid and nearsighted as I see them now. The steelers have a black hc for the first time in the history of the club, that should be a part of the discussion, within reason. It's your sandbox, so I get it.

Got in just before the lock. There's probably places out there that don't have rules. This place probably isn't for everyone.
