I was curious about how objective I was being about the Pass Interference concerns. I found this site

Apologies for the long table but I thought it was interesting. The numbers speak for themselves but I do find it interesting that Rodgers (gets my vote for best QB in the league) and Brees (top 5) are both *really* low. Way to go Joe (you *&#$%&@^ #$%@)

Seems to have been that way for the past few years - I think they actually run several plays a game trying to get a PI call. Just chuck it deep and hope for the flag. Often times it is a cheesey flag as well.

 

The Rats get the calls because they design a lot of 1 on 1 shots down the field ,plus if you look at how Flacco throws it he has a lot of Arch so it stays in the air for a long time,

So to me it is simple math they do it more often than most and his ball stays in the air longer than most this gives them a greater chance of drawing a flag.

 

I agree, Joe has a large deep threat in Torey Smith, Joe goes for the long big arc homerun pass too. I think Brees and Rodgers are focused more on accuracy and throwing more on a line.

 

You can't get PI on Rodgers and Brees because they are so accurate. You can be draped all over the receiver and they will still find a way to fit the pass in there. Remember the pass in the Superbowl when Rodgers threw it just over the finger tips of Ike Taylor.

Also Joe throws the jump ball hoping for a call. It seems to work as much as I hate it. Torrey Smith also knows how to sell it like he is being mugged by 20 guys to help the official throw the flag. He is the NFL's version of soccer flopping...

 

And I expect to see at least a few of them tonight being called on Ike.

 

This is probably the Ravens's signature bread and butter play. Flacco isn't that good of a QB, he just is good at gaming the system. Unfortunately this the way the NFL wants it. I say the Steelers should take a play out of there game and send Wheaton and/or DHB deep about 15 times this game and chuck it up. See how much they like it.

Me too FTB. I am going to freakin lose it if Ike plays that kinda game.. Sometimes he resorts to grabbing when he is clearly beat. Hopefully this is not the case for the turds game

 

Well, if it's hanging up there longer, our DB's should have a decent chance to get their head around and make a pick!

 

I hope ike has two picks tonight. oh and doesn't get foot fungus in Baltimore.

 

I'm honestly starting to believe that if the opposing QB walked up to Ike during live action and asked him to put out his hands...and then proceeded to drop the ball from 2 inches above Ike's outstretched hands....he'd still easily drop it.

As pointed out to me in another thread Ike has 14 career interceptions. Damn if someone had asked me I would have said ZERO lol
