Steelers and fantasy football

    The guy in our league that has Bell did pretty well with him this week. Bell had like 28.70 on nfl.com's FF.

    He was the top scoring RB in my money league this week.

    Who had him?

    Thankfully, I played him at my flex. Was tempted to play a WR since we're a PPR league. (Adrian Peterson is my starting RB. Don't ask me how I managed to snag Bell too)

    Not really. At least not in my league. He either slipped through the cracks, or many of the owners didn't believe in him as a #1 starter. I grabbed him in the 3rd round.

    Most owners go for WRs and QBs early. Took that time to bolster my RB corps. Grabbed Matt Ryan in the 7th round. Worked out well in week one. We'll see about the season.

    Yeah my buddy told me he took Stafford first and Johnson second. I'd say he won his game this week.

    If Calvin Johnson was there in the second round, he should win his league.

    The other owners don't know how to draft. ;)

    (Then again, he took Stafford in the first. Either his league has odd scoring rules, or...)

    He just thinks of Stafford as a guy that gets a lot of garbage yards which are really valuable in fantasy. It might have been the other way around. He just said those were his "first two picks". I just wrote it the wrong way. I actually would bet that he did take Johnson first.

    I agree. I draft fantasy players based on skill and how many points they are going to get me, not what color uniform they wear. The Steelers players are just like every other player when I am drafting. I have AB but that is because he performs not because he plays for the Steelers.

    I've got one I got invited into this year, that had an autodraft only (yuck). I'd like to slug the jackwagon that set up the scoring. My opponent got 101 points last week from Matt Ryan. :hmmm: Apparently I should have just drafted QBs.

    101??? Rather generous scoring there.

    My money league has bonus points for big plays or yardage marks (400 passing for example). And Ryan only (heh... only) got me 59 points.

    Just in our message board league, I have Bernard (cin), Cameron (cle), and Dalton (cin)...when it's my turn to draft, I look at my list of who is the BPA on my list. In my main league that I'm in with friends/family for $, I drafted Calvin Johnson at #5 overall, then Bernard in the 2nd round. The steal of the draft IMO was when I got Bell in the 3rd.

    Again, my point...just depends who is available when it's my turn. It could be any player from any of the 32 teams

    I hate fantasy football. It's taken the focus from the team to individuals and I firmly believe it's the primary factor in the new rules the last 5 years or so. Don't want the leagues precious money maker fantasy players to get hurt. The one time I played fantasy I picked all steelers players, I did well as the burgh went to the super bowl that year.

    Logic usually would have told me to go with Brady over Cutler week #1, but I rolled with Cutler because of his weapons and I was rewarded with 56 points over Brady's 36 I believe

    Very shrewd move. Sometimes we overthink our plays (I'm very guilty of that). Looks like you didn't allow yourself to do that.
