I know a win is a win but to give up that lead at half is ridiculous. The Browns go into the locker room and make adjustments that worked for them in the second half which tied the game. What the hell are the Steelers doing in there locker room. I guess they figure they had enough of a lead why play the second half. Way to celebrate Chuck Noll day Steelers. I'm 73 and have been a fan for 60 yrs. and still cannot figure out what they are thinking. Every time we get a big lead we relax and never bury a team. That will bite them later on in the season. The Browns are you kidding me, come on man.

I agree with you but alot of good came from this game. We learned Bell is better this year then last. Amazing

AB is AB. Awesome as always. Had a great game.

Wheaton is surprising alot of people.

BEN.. Wow to throw a TD on the run out of the pocket like he did to AB was nothing short of amazing..

Ugly win but a win no less. It is only game 1.. They came out flying in the first half.. Next game they may play a complete game

    GO STEELERS

They can be good but look for guys like Troy to be getting less playing time. Time to pass the torch.

This team has been this way for a while, nothing new, may as well get used to it. WE're going to play an awful lot of ugly football and when we do win, it's going to be a nail biter.

I'd start Gay over Ike at this point! He's got the WORST BALL SKILLS I'VE EVER SEEN!!!

I'm not particularly worried about the game. First off it's the game 1 there are always kinks to be worked out. Those kinks are exacerbated by our limited practice time. We used to literally have twice the practice time. Secondly this team is still in rebuild mode. We have at least one more season and quite possibly two before it's finished.

I honestly did not notice Troy as much as Ike. Ike is done for sure. I gave him a break for last year because from his own admission he was playing injured.. Well now he has no excuse

I'm not as worried about Troy or Ike as I am their run Defense...that was gross and sets up the passing game. They were gashed and that needs to be fixed, otherwise any CB or S will look bad.

I said already, Ike does not need to be a starter....period! Lack of pressure all year and we won't win 7 games, and this was against Hoyer and a bunch of 2 Nd stringers

Jekyll and Hyde performance, but I thought there were some positives. Shazier made a couple of nice TFL's, Timmons had a nice game, AB and Bell balled out big time, and Wheaton looked really solid out there. Run D still worries me, and so does our propensity to allow big plays. Let's go get the Ratbirds next week. 2-0 would be a great start, no matter what the score boxes say.

Listen don't sell Hoyer short. When it counts he can really ball out.. He is very determined and calm.

It was not so much what we did not do then what Hoyer and company were able to do. The no huddle hurried type of offense most certainly attributed to their second half success

We need a new LDE. they ran consistently over Cam Thomas and Cam Heyward on the left side. It got so bad they moved Cam Thomas to NT and put Keisel on the left side. And to make it worst, we were in our base 3-4 defense.

Yep, they were beating us at our own game, we had no answers. You'd think that practicing against it, they would have fared better. They better fix that quick or all teams will gash us that way.

Yep. Let's give some credit to the Browns, however much it hurts to say that.

The first half seemed to be pushing all the right buttons - so many of the worries that were being raised around here were addressed. Wheaton looked great, J.Brown looked good, Bell broke off some big gains (a main cause for criticism before), and the D was smothering.

If we can just work out how to play like that all year, and not collapse in the second half... or score about 60 more points in the first half, then collapse... we'll be laughing.

Not going to harp on TP because when your Safeties and CBs don't trust the front on-line troops it can hurt their performance. I think Troy will make enough plays this year to make us all happy he's still with us.

What I am worried about is that defensive front against the run. Much of it is meshing with all the new parts I suspect, but it has been an unusual problem for us in the past couple years.

That and Gilbert, that same position again and again, bother me.

Lets not oversell him. Hoyer wouldn't start for at least two dozen NFL teams, and probably more.

There's still a lot of new parts on this team that are going to need to mesh. Run D is a concern as is the way we get burned on the play action. I'm very worried about the latter against Baltimore next Thursday. It seems the ravens always kill us with those play action deep throws, although most of the time they get a PI call instead of a completion on those.

I disagree with this. Hoyer was playing well last year before he was hurt if I remember correctly.

Hoyer is a good QB and I was personally pissed we let him go as our backup.

I would agree with you with replacing Taylor with Gay. Actually I would put taylor on the bench and bring up Sharmarko Thomas to play the slot.
