Here's my wishlist for today's game vs CLE:

    • Ben: keep the rhythm right as the final games of last season, with a strong command on offense and a good mix of his weapons.
    • Oline: Keep Ben Clean, not more than 1 sack.
    • Bell & Blount: Some wanted them suspended today; they must have a chip on their shoulders today and that should mean an A+ game, yards after contact, no fumbles, great pass protection.
    • We'll finally see Wheaton getting some extended gameplay. I'm expecting a big day from him: 5 receptions, 60+yds. After all, he has to prove he's a quality starter.
    • J Brown making the most out of this opportunity, if he catches what is thrown his way, he'll have a shot as 5th WR (over DHB, from whom I don't expect much, but will be glad to see him have a couple of nice catches too).
    • A Brown being himself (and that should at least mean: couple of critical receptions, many YAC)
    • One slash play from Dri Archer, either on a screen pass or a return.
    • Shazier having a couple of nice tackles, and anyone of these: int, fumble recovery, forced fumble, tackles for loss or a sack.
    • Worilds is making a ton of money this season, after all he's not a full-season proven starter. So he must earn each penny he's been paid: Sacks, pressure and tackles for loss.
    • J Jones: he's a second year Steeler starting OLB. And he should play like that.
    • I wonder how many of us are really expecting to see Spence: this guy can make out a nice story of inspiration for future generations, and for some on this team. I'd love to see him have some action and a couple of good plays.
    • Having Cortez Allen recover a fumble, break a critical pass or grabbing an int would be a great way to start a season in which he shows us he deserves that contract extension.
    • Kiesel having a tackle for a loss would be great. A Sack would be a great Welcome back, either if you never left.
    • Mitchell: He reminds some people of a younger, faster Ryan Clark.
    • Polamalu: Just prove that he still has some gas left for this season.
    • Whatever comes out of the rest of our rookies would be well received.

However, I'd trade any of the above for:
    No Injuries and a W!

    What's on your wishlist?

As few stupid penalties as possible. We won't have none, but just less than that Eagles game...

    Defense forcing turnovers.

Defense get off the damned field on 3rd down.

    No stupid penalties.

    4 sacks.

O-line opening holes and keeping Ben upright.

    Good and effective offensive balance.

    TDs. Not FGs.

If you switched off at half time - congratulations! Your wish came true!

(Sadly, I'm thinking you stayed watching...)

And at the end of the day, a win is a win.

There are A LOT of positives to take from the game. Just some negatives to accompany them.

Let me break down what each one wished:

    Green: Fulfilled
    Brown: Half
    Red: Not fulfilled

    Breaking it down:
    3 Sacks for, 4 against...
    We created no turnovers.
    Committed some stupid penalties
    Not enough 3&outs

1st half, we were the better team. 2nd half... What would you say?

    11 Penalties for 96 yards. I'd say it wasn't a fulfilled wish.

    And my wishes:
After all, I'd trade any week all of my wishes for the last one (No injuries & a W).

I may have been a tad premature.
