Jim Irsay Suspended For 6 Games, Fined $500K

    The NFL has suspended Irsay for 6 games and fined him $500K. $500K is the max he can be fined without getting permission from owners.

    I'm not exactly sure how a suspension affects an owner. He can't sit in his suite? Oh the horror! He'll probably just circle above the field in a helicopter with a couple of hookers, a bunch of booze, and blow.

    My thoughts exactly...
    Exactly what is he suspended from?
    I assume the team still functions normally, thru the general manager, coaches, etc.

    He's suspended from any and all football operations. I don't believe he's allowed to be part of the team whatsoever for the first 6 games. Meaning he can't call up the GM and have a conversation with him about any aspect of the team. Any trade talks or waiver moves, he will have no input. For an owner that's typically involved in the day to day operations, that would be incredibly hard to swallow.

    A player is suspended for 6 weeks, he loses 6 weeks salary. An owner is suspended for 6 weeks, _____________.
