Steelers Announce First Roster Cuts

Still more cuts to come!

 

Well seeing that Fangupo was cut, makes it more likely that the big guy is making this team.

 

Exactly, basically you have behind McLendon, you have Cam Thomas, and McCullers, with Fangupo cut it wouldn't leave them with and depth for DT if McCullers didn't make the team too.

 

That's exactly what I was thinking.

 

Both puzzling and frustrating ,Carter is trash.

 

I like McCullers and hope he makes it, but he's still not a lock.

 

Me too man! Dang that was quick with him. Maybe they were trying to do him a favor and giving him a shot with someone else or something. He had played good I thought and Steelers Depot even done a film breakdown of him.

 

I still have high hopes for elkins...... he'll probably make the practice squad and if he does, don't be surprised if he is on the active roster by the end of the season...........
I also believe tauren poole will be back as a special teams ace if the coverage teams struggle

 

Barring injury there is no way they roll into the year with 2 NTs and one of them being a swing guy

 

Big Mac needs to stay, so does Mauro. I can see them getting some meaningful minutes this year.

 

Why? Our NT is off the field 2/3 of the time anyway.

 

Ken Laird is reporting he is not eligible.

Well, I know myron is disappointed that "Dirty Laundry" Jones made it through the first round of cuts. Maybe next week, myron.

 

love your thinking, but I think it's because one has the measurables to be immovable, while the other has a high motor and plays the game. I see both of them being proud and prided steelers. Thomas while I hope he does well don't really get my dander up, and McClendon seems to not be taking the reigns yet after the opportunity to do so.
But what do I know, I just hope they stick because their arrow points north. Arnfelt was a huge disappointment after making a believer out of me (and a lot of us) during last seasons lead up. Basically we need a front that matters and I think these boys will soon enough.

 

Yeah Arnfelt really disappointed me as well. I really thought he was going to have a big year this year but he looked as if he has gotten worse. Mauro made him expendable.

 

I agree. he may be back to the PS at some point possibly. Mauro and hemmer did earn an extended stay though, which is good for the team building.

 

Even more shocking QB McKay not cut in the first round. Could it be that they will seriously consider him over Landry Jones???
