Towards the end of the year around December he was looking like himself again.

He's also quite a bit younger than Heath, and plays OL. Those are both major factors when it comes to recovering from knee surgery.

I think he's good enough to overcome that, Mac. And I think the knee is 100%, don't think that will be an issue. I don't think the Steelers award him that contract if that wasn't the case.

Agreed. There's a difference between being held out of something because you can't do it and being held out because you're being cautious and there isn't anything to gain anyway. Pouncey will be fine if he misses some spring drills. No reason not to give him an extra month or two of rest. That doesn't mean his knee is in trouble - it's just smart. Nothing wrong with revving up slowly. There's no way they give him that contract if they aren't 100% sure that his knee is 100% fine.

You also brought up the coaching change as a negative, mac. I know Munchak represents a lack of consistency this year, but are you really saying that's bad? If we signed Joe Thomas to play LT, would that be a concern because of the lack of stability next to Ramon Foster? The change in coaching is 100% good. Any problems that arise will be outweighed ten-fold by benefits.

    Great player when healthy..

If we can keep him off the table, clothed and out of Miami, we'll have no worries. :smiley1:

none of it was brought up as a negative, just an unknown at this stage. to say there is nothing to worry about with him, seems a little premature at this point.

as far as the signing, well c'mon, we have seen some not so thought through deals before around here. not saying this is one of those cases, but that argument has some bad examples to the negative side of it.

if we get back the player munch has seen on film, then we will have something for our money. young or not both ankles and a knee are tough injuries for a guy that uses his movement as his best asset. I wonder how much he'll play in preseason too? you know they will want all these starters on the o-line to play a lot to refine this system. cautionary optimism.

93.7 The Fan had the victims Attorney on earlier this evening and claims they have a video of Maurkice punching the woman in the face. I'll guess we'll have to wait to see how this ends up.

Ugh. At least that's only a 2 week suspension.

Yeah he's not in the clear by no means... There still have been no charges filed right? Or has there? If not maybe the vid brings it back up? Stupid move on his and brothers part either way you cut it. I guarantee he'll get more than 2 for a suspension if it happens... The NFL is getting slammed all over the place for going lax on Rice. And while I hate being a conspiracy theorist, we all know fairness don't apply to the burgh come fine/days on the hook status.

Hope it stays that way, but we know how the dictator rules over allegations.
Hope the kid gets to play, but if it comes to light that he did in fact act out those allegations then we need to toss him fast.

If there is indeed a video, he"ll definitely get more then 2 games. In Rice' case, if I'm not mistaken, you never see him hit her.

I'll believe there is a video though when i see it.

The police had the video (of what happened in the elevator) and turned it over to the DA. I'm sure the hotel was paid nicely not to allow the elevator video to slip out. That's why the DA decided to indict him. If he was a grandstanding ass-hat that was mad because he couldn't get a conviction, then he would have held a press conference and put out all the "evidence" that he couldn't use to get charges filed. A complete breach of due process because he was mad the case wasn't good enough. (something people who choose to denigrate Ben forget)

I just hope he assaults some NT's, LB'ers and d-linemen this year. Fernando did seal up the pass rush into bens face up the middle last year. that was the most evident thing I saw between the two.
