yes, Harrison was injured and broken down 2 yrs. ago, and what exactly did carter do during that time other than make everyone wish Harrison wasn't injured and broken down......
besides.... how bad can his back be these days if Antonio brown can sit on it while he does push ups......
let's be real here... carter and Harrison are both done, but at least Harrison can impart some wisdom to jj in the same way that coach porter is doing, not to mention being able to be at least somewhat productive if called on in an emergency

though I wouldn't be disappointed if Harrison came back, but I'd like them to wait and see what we have and keep his signing as just that, an emergency. if we can get near the same production out of guys like so'oto, moats and zumwalt, howard and maybe even carter, I'd rather go with the youth upside. if they show it. it's a young group, but all have had some playing time in this very system. they should know pretty early in the preseason whether it is to their liking. we have a veteran staff to work with these LB'ers, so one more coach for JJ may be too many.

I'd like to see what we drafted and brought in as a FA, to know what we have to work with before any former aged player comes back. it's not that they are not worthy, but rather lets see the next generation first. they may have our next great LB in the mix already.

I think it's going to be hard for JH to keep up the same intensity he played with before coming off the bench in spot duty. I'm sure he can make a good showing, but can someone else also? someone that shows some flash for the future.

and yes you were right b&g about carter starting 2 years ago and not his rookie year. I should know better, that you were all over it my friend.:smiley1: though he did have a start his rookie year. he's had 4 total which is far less than worilds did.

camp will be quite interesting. working against buffalo this year will really help sort it out. I like that they are doing that again.

Guess there is only one way to find out but I totally think he can produce still. Im not asking him to be a starter, they don't need 12 sacks out of him, Carter certainly won't.

competition is a good thing when you have the confidence that you can win or get better... when you don't have it, you complain about the people being brought in

Pretty much. It just comes off as 'I want a chance to play. Don't bring in a guy who I think is better than me'...

He should get preferential treatment. I'm sure if Lebeau had the final say ,he would rather" go to battle " with Harrison ,than someone who has had plenty of opportunity to step up ( Carter) and hasn't. It pisses me off that he is now talking about tryin to get better in what is the last year of his contract. To me it's too late,he had his chance.
