I wouldn't give Gilbert a contract extension right now let him play the season out then talk. I think Allen, Heyward, Worilds, and Ben are in line for new contracts first.

 

I'm not a Gilbert fan. I think he will be the swing tackle and not a starter when the team breaks camp. I wouldn't extend him at $5 mil/year as the swing tackle. Besides Wes Johnson may become a swing tackle candidate so Gilbert may become expendable.

 

gilbert hasn't shown he can play LT. how can he be the swing T? I also think it will be munch's Johnson, but he's going to be learning every spot along the way. I'd be surprised if it wasn't beachum,foster,pouncey,DD,gilbert starting and adams, Johnson, Wallace and whimper as the backups this year. next year that might all change some.
