Right now it would be JB but who knows maybe Bryant goes and balls out but it would have to be one of those two IMO

People are sleeping on Lance Moore. He's going to be our #2 this year

Nah he's not built for it and that would deter from what he does best. He is his beat is the slot why move him.

He's bigger than Antonio Brown is.

Browns got 2 inches on him and is a much better wr. My point is more of why take him out of his natural position.

Where did I say we had to take him out of the slot? I'm not concerned with where he plays, but he's going to be the #2 WR on our team this year. Victor Cruz lines up inside and he is the Giants top WR. Welker was the Pats best WR while in the slot. Moore will be a bigger part of the team than Wheaton will be, at least for this upcoming season.

Look, I really like Lance Moore, but if he is our #2 this year, it will be a disappointment. That is not to say that I don't like him, I really do and in all honesty I think he is an upgrade to Cotchery (and I think he will show that to us this year). The reality....that means that 4 young kids and 1 other vet have all not raised their games enough to beat him out.

Personally, I think J. Brown has a shot to get a helmet every week and contribute, especially if he can find a comfort in the red zone with Ben and do something on special teams. For special teams, maybe he makes himself the "hands" guy. You know the guy you run out there late in the game when you are going to be catching the ball at the 10 with a fair catch only. Maybe he does something else, but I think by all reports he is starting to come into his own. It would not surprise me at all if he got a helmet and Bryant didn't.

The guy I think everyone is sleeping on is DHB. DHB is big, fast, strong...but has problems with drops. If somehow our WR coach can get in his head and get that fixed....he could be a real steal.

Ok now I understand what you are saying. He is going to be Ben's number 2 target. When you say number 2 in an X and O form that's the other wide out. Sorry I misunderstood you then yes I agree he is probably going to be 2nd in Ben's tree.

Yup, I agree. I see a ton of potential in DHB. If he can turn the corner he's a no brainer #2 and huge red zone threat.

I thought this last year when he went to play with Luck. They gave him every chance in the world to succeed and he flopped badly. The guy can't catch

I know the frustration with DHB. I drafted him in fantasy expecting him to put up huge numbers. :lolol:
Maybe he's just trying too hard? I know it sounds dumb but maybe it's a confidence issue? If it isn't, get the man some stickum!

Wheaton will be the #2 WR, I expect him to get around 50 catches and maybe 5 TDs.

The Steelers couldn't fix a very similar player in Limas Sweed. What makes you think they can turn DHB around? I don't see him getting a helmet on game day.

My hope lies with Mann, been around a long time. AB and Cotch had their best seasons under him, maybe he can get DHB turned around. If DHB still flops under him, he's a lost cause.

#2 WR is essentially Heath Miller.... what ever WR that lines up opposite of AB is just a decoy to free Heath and AB up....

I can't see Lance as #2...I doubt he has the speed for it at his age. I do think he will succeed in the slot though as a #3...

Cotchery wasn't exactly a speed demon. If we want this offence to succeed, we need more than AB and heath. It's not like Heath is a burner either, he's not going to put up top 5 TE receiving numbers. We need more from our offence than Brown and a TE that puts up good but not great receiving numbers. Lance/Wheaton/whoever needs to be more than a decoy or this offence is going to underwhelm again.

I just think he's got either concentration issues or confidence issues (or both). Those are very hard to fix, often impossible. The second DHB gets into a game and has a ball thrown to him, all he's going to be thinking about is not dropping it. That's no way to play sports. It has to come naturally.

That is why we have a WR coach....

It could be mental. It could be that he sees something another coach doesn't which will fix it.

Sweed had his own set of issues. They weren't related for the most part to his abilities but rather his mentality.

I do agree we need more, but I don't think any other receiver on the roster is going to give that production... That is why I think we are going to rely heavily on LevBell and the run game this year.

Heath isn't a burner but his size is a mismatch, just like Cotchery.

If as you say Wheaton is the #2 then whoever would replace him by definition is less than #2. Therefore , they would not be a good #2.

    symantics, I know.

Hines spent years being old small and slow, and we thought he was #1?
